Hi all

I'm really new to editing but would like to try & do a tryptic (sp?)

Not sure if I'm wanting to do something that is possible in PSE7 nor how to explain what I'm after properley but here goes :

3 separate images put in to a frame but with space between them
Does that make any sense ?

How do you this ? Is PSE7 capable ?

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense but hope someone understands :help:

thanks in advance
Lynne

No probs - good luck with it. The A3 template is something I had bookmarked as I'm going to give it a bash, but as yet haven't had the time!

Looks good Marc, I assume I'll be able to do this in PSE6 too?

excellent, thanks.

BTW, I did this in about 5 minutes using a built in template in PSE7

Hi Mark

thats almost exactly what I want to try & do . Is there a tutorial somewhere? or can you give me a clue as to where to find the templates in PSE7 ? Spent ages last night trying to find something like that but obviously looking in the wrong place .
Apologies if I'm sounding dim but really am very new to this editing malarky:help:

OK

Open PSE7 and click on "Create" on the welcome screen (If you are in Edit mode, you can click "Create" in the top right hand corner where it says Edit/Create/Share.)

On the right hand side, you will see Themes with some options then, below that, you'll see Photo Collage. Just select the template from beneath that.

You can the just drag photos from the tray at the bottom into the boxes on your template.

Just shout if you need any more help.

OMG ,what have I done :bonk:

Thanks for the help Marc ,just spent an hour looking through & playing with a part of PSE7 I never knew existed & can see I'm gonna need serious time off work to get my head round it:lol:
Found the bit I needed but the possibilities are endless ,need lots more practice so can see how I'm going to be spending my weekends .
Have a few more questions but will try out some stuff & if I get stumped....I'll be back Marc

Me agin

had a play & found a few bits ,managed to do basically what you ( Marc) did in the above post except I can't figure out how to get the background of the picture colored or black. My attempts were all white . Using Marc's photo example is it possible to make the whole background black ?

thanks in advance,Lynne

Marc ,many thanks once again

after lots of  about what you said to do I may have sussed a way to do this . Not necessarily the correct way but managing to get to the required end result . Possibly .I think .
I'll keep trying till one day I get it spot on

Marc ...me again needing help :bang:

Been playing around & slowly getting the hang of it . Done a couple of tryptics that I'm quite pleased with but now have a project that I want to use writing in as well

I want to add text but behind the photos ? I choose the template & keep the background white for ease .I've found the text style thing & eventually I get a text layer but can't add my own text .Just using the box that says " your text here" I can't get it to appear anywhere let alone behind the photo ! By behind I mean underneath so it shows round the edges ie I have 5 road racing shots & want to write "only when you stare death in the face do you feel truly alive" Should add at this point that I really don't understand the layers thing yet

& whilst I'm picking your brains : is it possible to use your own photo as a background rather than using one of the preset ones ? Have tried several times but either I'm doing it wrong ( most likely ) or it can't be done

thanks in anticipation :)

ps : the beers on me if we ever meet :D

No worries Marc ,I really appreciate your patience & help:thumbs:

I've sussed how to put text underneath the picture finally .I think it's just working out what order I need to do things in . Thought I'd post one of my efforts just to show your time & help have not been in vain :

Untitled-28.jpg

Its far from perfect ,I seem to have elongated Mr McG & the 2 pics are'nt quite the same size but other than that I'm really pleased that 6 hours of fiddling about has worked so well .
As usual any tips are much appreciated...
