After a bit of advice from you knowledgeable peeps.

I have seen some quite remarkable noise reduction with lightroom done to a high ISO image on here recently and it got me thinking, would Lightroom be a good addition to my software?

All I have at the moment is PSE7, to be honest I have not needed anything more as I tend not to take photos if I need an ISO over 800 as my D70 does not do to well with high ISO and I don't manipulate my images to much (although I do want to learn how to do more), this means I must be missing a lot of potential photos and photo opportunities and not bringing the best out of what I do get.

So would Lightroom be a good addition? Should I upgrade PSE or is there another app that might better suit a rank amateur like me?

Thanks for any advice
Ian

Definitely try the 30 day trial of Lightroom. It's superb for general adjustments but not really a tool for advanced pixel level tweaking. I like it as I often have over 300 shots from a typical days shoot that need sorting/rating/wb adjustments/exposure adjustments etc. Not used PSE or CS5 as I do not do advanced detail stuff on specific shots.

Thanks, I will give it a go, general tweeks is all I want really, I'm not into changinf skys and transforming photos most I do in that way is clone out bits that I don't want (power lines etc).
