I am using PSE11 with Windows 7 Home Premium. All has been (reasonably) well until yesterday when one NEF file and the jpg created from it couldn't be deleted in PSE11.
In the Windows Explorer it showed a padlocked icon, but following advice found elsewhere on the Adobe forum I changed the properties to 'shared' which removed the locked icons. However I still cannot delete these files from PSE nor can I just delete them from the catalogue.
I can delete the files from Explorer but when I go back to PSE they are still there and I get the same message again when trying to remove them. It's only these related RAW and jpg files - all others aren't affected.
My catalogue looks like this - note the corrupted thumbnail too:
