Edit My Images
Yes
Hi Folks. I am currently using a trial of PSE 9 which im a getting used to.
all my photos are jpegs at the moment an im am coping well with small edits.
ive just watched this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIR9wqnnDyk about panoramas which was very helpful.
He was using camera raw which I have never used so just took a pic in NEF then tried to open it up in the organiser and normal Photoshop just like her did, and i was going to play around with it.
However it says my NEF file is a wrong file type and cannot open!?!
I thought NEF was just Nikons wording for RAW??
Im very confused and disappointed with not being able to open and learn about camera raw.

So does any one know anything about this?

Thank you

you should have had a nx2 disc with camera, when installed on computer it will allow you to process nef/raw images,
i have shot nef+f today for first time
using nx2 i have processed nef and compared to jpeg it is truly an amazing difference

Hi, yeah I downloaded that NX2 and i have used it to convert NEF's to Jpeg, but i want to edit and stitch together my images to make a panorama in PSE but it wont read the NEF?? which is stupid? lol

This is correct but, if you are running Windows 7 64 bit you will not be able to view NEF (RAW) thumbnails in PSE9, you will however be able to open the file and work on it.

Not strictly true as you can click on the NEF file and see a preview of it before you open it.

But it really is easier to just use the Organizer in PSE9 as you can view all the thumbnails and full size previews of your NEF files.
