A friend of mine has just told me he can get me a copy of PS5, for £20, he refused to answer my question which was " is it a illegal copy" he said do I want it or not. I said no I dont want any dodgy software on my pc, yet at the same time I will be able to do things with my RAW files. Any advice if to steer clear or not?
 
If he won't answer that question your best of avoiding it mate. I can't say for Nikon but with Canon the free software that comes with it the camera is very good and it's almost comprehensive :)
 
Not that I am condoning it, but it's relatively easy to download a free copy if you wanted.
 
A copy of PSE8 is about £60 - Cheaper if you speak to Kerso. That will do you very well and give you all the processing you'll need as you can use ACR for your raw images.

Have to agree with Swag on this one Julian a copy of Elements will be up to the job and you can get a legit copy fairly cheap. Remember the saying "if something appears to be too good" :) CS5 has only recently been released and costs many hundreds of quid.

Yeah I looked the price up, and your right if appears to be good t0o be true! Oh god what if the other too good to be true is the same??? :lol:
 
you can download a 30 day trial of CS5 from the Adobe website if you fancied playing around with it.

and then think oh I wish Elements had this that and the other....... which that lovely CS5 did....:lol:

I'd say Wheels if your friend is charging you £20 for it hes making £20 out of you....... as per post #3. (and in no way am I condoning this either.)

Definitely a VERY dodgy copy at that price. We will probably have enough left for PSE8 from Kerso in the pot. Far better than nicked software. :rules:
