I have PS E6, and everytime I connect my 40D, it tries to connect to the camera, and I don't want it to!

Any ideas where/how I can stop it from doing this please?

(Sorry if this is in the wrong place!).

Control Panel > Autoplay.

Down at the bottom of the list is "Devices". You should see your 40D there, and can customise the options as you like.

Personally I have autoinsert turned off everywhere (also on Vista Business), because I hate it. I prefer to be in full control of my system.

If disabling autoplay on your 40d dont fix the problem, Think that Photoshop Essentials installs an app that spots when a cardreader/camera is plugged into your computer. Maybe called autodownloader. Disable that. prob in PS Essentials options.

Thanks.

I've already turned off Autoplay, because that used to come up as well :nono:

....any idea where I can find that within PS? I've looked, but I can't find the option anywhere.....

I no longer use Elements. Only had installed for a course and then got rid. But have a hunt around for Adobe Photo Downloader

If memory serves there should be a icon for it in the Systray (By the clock in bottom right of screen if in Windoze)

Right click on that and it should hopefully give you an option to disable it

Hello, i have PS Elements 4, if you open the organizer option, then click on `Edit`, then `Preferences` and then choose `Camera of Card Reader` there is a box that you can uncheck. Hope this helps, regards Damian. :)
