PS Elements with Lightroom 2

My process at the moment is to use Lightroom2.3 for processing my images and The Gimp for extra bits that i would normally do in Photoshop7 (on my old PC) but i have a Mac and do not have photoshop CS anything! I don't much like using the GIMP but put up with it as it's free and does the job well with simple tasks.

The thing is, I can't use layers and a host of other things in Lightroom but can in elements. Also i have loads and loads of tutorials done in Elements which seems to be the favorite of most magazines.

For the little outlay would it be worth getting elements to work alongside Lightroom and then use the Gimp for tasks that can only be done in Photoshop CS4?

Do you use both Lightroom and Elements?

Simple answer. YES

Elements is a good companion for Lightroom. I've not used the latest version, as I'm a Photoshop user, but from what I understand the latest will do most if not all you want it to do.

Download the 30 day trial from Adobe and see I'm right

I did try and download the trial but i couldn't be bothered to wait 6 weeks for it to download! I may have had a slow connection yesterday so i'll try again!

Nope...still going to take forever! I have got Elements 7 for Windows somewhere (can't find it!) and i know adobe will swap the discs for a small fee. Now where is it!!!
