Yes
I don't know about anybody else but I am feeling particularly proud to be British at the moment.
I was watching Britain from above last night and thinking how lucky we are to live on such a beautiful island, add to that the amazing results in the olympics and we don't do too bad really.
I suppose it may be a bit much to expect some of the teenage yobs to be inspired by the results or our increasingly obese population to decide "hey maybe I don't have to be the size of a house" but you never know.
I for one have enjoyed watching the fine behaviour of Team GB and look forward very much to London 2012.

Just wish the climate was better:D

I wish people would stop going on about the weather ~ Britain has lovely countryside, with lots of trees and flowers etc because it rains so much.

Look at somewhere like spain where it doesn't rain as much, and all you get is often just burnt grass and sand.........

Anyway, no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.

My sentiments exactly! I love the weather we have. When i'm abroad in hot countries (not been for a few years now as I try to avoid them) I can never be bothered to do anything because its so hot and cr@p countryside mostly.

I find that in general the people that complain about the weather the most are the people that don't go out into the countryside much, or out at all much, so they've got less right to moan about the weather anyway :D

normally i would agree with you, but these last two summers have been a joke
cant go and see the lovely countryside because its always raining.

Big girls blouse.

Put your waterproofs on and get out there

unfortunately i have done.. last time it cost me a pair of boots and nearly a camera.

i work outside almost everyday with a camera and half the time i spend it in the nearest Subway eating a sub waiting for it to stop raining.

Green and grey doesn't work for me... And leave the countryside behind and you often get grey and grey - that doesn't work for me either. The rain may well contribute but you can get too much of a good thing! :)

Photosynthesis requires sunlight as well as water. ;)

I just wish summer felt like summer, and not a wet autumn.

The British weather could do with just being a bit more predictable.....

NOT TOTALY ****** RANDOM:bang:

Apart from the fact that most people are afraid to walk the streets at night.
And school children are getting stabbed.
And there's at least one fatal stabbing a week.
The price of petrol.
The price of everything, actually.
We get ripped off by just about everyone and everything.
The government are the biggest rip off merchants.
The weather's lousy.
British people are (generally) miserable, rude, lazy and ignorant.

I could go on, but I'm starting to get a bit boring now!

Then yes it's not too bad a place to live.

 Can't let a comment like that go.....

What part of Spain are you generalising about? Here in the Valencia Region and elsewhere it's hot AND green with the likes of oranges, peaches, plums, grapes etc etc growing in every direction you care to look. Definately not just burnt grass and sand :nono:

OK, that was a sweeping generalisation ;)

All sweeping generalisations are wrong :bonk:

Do you read the Daily Mail?

 every country can claim lots of good things and lots of bad things - I mean just think, you could live in a fantastically hot country with some stunning scenery....and be under the rule of a despot leader that murders people for daring to disagree...

Yeah, I suppose feeling quite proud of British people atm, or at least those that are in China and those that are supporting them. I just hope the structures are in place to keep the mpmentum going not just until 2012 but onwards for many years to come. Now if they could just convince the PC Daily Mail readers that kids need to learn that taking part in something they are good at [sport or otherwise] and aiming to be the very best at that activity instead of worrying that they will psychogically damaged if they lose the egg and spoon race, we might even reduce the number of teenage stabbings, couch potatos and even rain haters ;)
