PROJECT THREE - MagicMynx's magic chair

Darren. I can supply 4 core .75mm flex, it is 230v though so might be physically too large. My only thought with 3pr alarm or 2pr telephone cable is that not being made to be constantly flexed, it might break a core and fail in time.

Let me know if this is of any use and thanks for all your doing.
Trev

EDIT: forgot to say the 4 core .75 is white.

I've got the wee Gorillapod clones, would one of those do, Darren?

Oh yes please!

Just doing my mad professor bit with the radio transmitters/receivers etc at the moment :) The broken bits have been quite useful. You sent me a few of the screw on cables and one has a mini usb, is that for a D90?

kk, I think the only thing I have with more than 2 1/2 (ie twin n earth) cores is either cat5 or 9 core armour but its a few inches across :p

Thanks for your help/suggestions but I have just realised I had a broken USB cable and that will do it !

Not a clue mate, I just scooped a pile of stuff up

I'll pop a couple of the 'pods in the post this afternoon

I have that Gorilla pod that is no good for me will it be any use for Nattelie's?

Cawacklacky

The 222 will be on the way tommorow, I couldn't find a box but got hold of a suitable box today.

Should be with you for weekend.

:D

I know it's not exactly what you were after, but I have a slightly damaged Manfrotto 190XProB I'd be more than happy to donate. It's had some of the leg clips an the centre column locking knob removed (they were used to replace these parts on other tripods) but aside from that it's fine. You're welcome to it if you want it?

I am sure that I can use it! Thank you.

Darren,
Your help towards others has been nothing short of breathtaking to read and admire. Come payday, I will be donating to help.

You should be very proud of what you are doing. You see so called "celebs" getting OBE's MBE's etc etc, but it is this kind of work which should be rewarded!!!

Fantastic geastures from a fantastic person!

At the moment I am hoping that doing this isn't going to end up costing me :gag:

Just finished Nat's electronics

Her radio transmitter/receiver for the Sony is now up and running and working (other than the buttons which should arrive in next few days!)

yes, I have a wired one, I have a cheapie radio one too but I can't turn it on by myself, so only ever gets used for self portraits cause it's a farce. The wired one has a plastic thingy that you can push over the button to keep the shutter open on bulb. The radio one...I haven't a clue, haven't played with it much cause it's awkward cause I can't turn it on.

I may be able to help out with the push buttons, send me the spec (or a link to the ones you are looking at) and I'll take a a look at work on Thursday.

Also if you need any help with the design/engineering side of things give me a shout.

Chris.

Thanks for the offer but I have placed the order today for the buttons, ordered 4 at £3.50 each. The spec was not an issue really they are only LARGE non latching low voltage buttons but I wanted them to be weatherproof.

The design of the mechanical and electronic side are now complete and the electronics are finished and in the box minus the buttons.

Really do appreciate the offer though. If you do have access to any large buttons like that I could probably do with 4 more simply because I am trying to build a third system and for a spare box for any of the three.

Latest position.....

If anyone is wanting to see the wanted list it is as follows:

6 x 9v batteries
pipe lagging foam

plus the items promised or purchased which are on route

waterproof buttons
gorillapods
222 head
aluminium plates
Manfrotto arm/clamp

"Nat's special remote control" now built and working minus the buttons :)

We have had a few more donations today so thanks for that.

Darren, if you still need pennies, can you point me in the direction of the paypal account?

I wish I could help, sadly not been earning anything from either my music career or photography....

But..

I am happy to donate copies of my CD... So memebers send Darren the money and I would send the CD..

It is the only way I can offer help. I found the thread for Julian very moving and Darren really has been very generous and kind in doing this.

Any thoughts on this please let me know..

The alumnium plates are complete....

Will send them ASAP...

Mark

The WOOPS I posted a couple of days ago was me thinking that I had made a mistake with Excel. What has actually happened is that the original collection for Wheels came in SO quickly that Rob Arkady accidentally included £250 that was paid to HIM for something he was selling on Ebay. Therefore the original collection was actually £250 LESS than we thought. As I have been spending it as quickly as it came in this has now caused us to be short. There have been some really nice donations today which I am grateful for but there have been a few promised donations that have not arrived yet so if anyone was going to donate then the paypal address is on post 1.

Thank you all for your wonderful generosity it is VERY much appreciated and we WILL sort it......

Coming to your address, don't know how long they will take.

A solution to follow Keiths great offer :D

Thanks!

I wanted to make the radio transmitter (which Nat can use virtually all the time) last MUCH longer than those tiny little 12V batteries can manage so I have built the circuit with a 9V battery instead :) Also it is easier to change too. Just waiting for the buttons to arrive BUT I need a different button for the Nikon trigger button on Wheels' as those will not do it now!

Fella what do you need, I'll have a look on Maplin.co.uk site they sell all sorts of switches.

Just been to Maplin they only sell one DPDT non latching push button that is weatherproof so I bought one.

Wheels is getting his working setup next week BUT the plate was always going to be replaced later when I am able to get them powder coated (I am building a product photography table and have bought the metal but have not had time to weld it together yet, once I do I will include Wheel's plate in with my frame and get them both powder coated at the same time) What I am going to do it give him the current one then make the new plate with new buttons and just swap them over later.

This is the button that I have bought for them both:
