Thanks, Nat's setup will be vastly less expensive but there are still quite a few bits we need to get it right for her.

Payment sent
Also, have a bit of time on my hands at the moment so, if there's any time consuming tasks need doing, let me know.

Thank you so much everyone. This really does mean alot and I'm a bit overwhelmed and speechless about it all, I really don't know how to express how grateful I am, thank you so much.

:clap::thumbs:

If anyone who said they were going to donate wants to then today would be handy as I'm off to maplin tomorrow to send a wad on parts!

Thanks to everyone!

You are very welcome I hope it makes things a bit easier for you...

Does anyone know anyne at the Manfrotto distributors? they might be throwing away broken bits of kit that could be adapted by Cowasaki when they get tripods in for repair:)

Honestly, sincerely, it really will. The condition that I have is aquired (ie I wasn't born with it) and it now affects all 4 limbs. When it was just one limb I was fairly mobile. Now I have varying degrees of use of my limbs and by varying degrees I mean that in the space of a few minutes, I can go from having quite alot of movement to having no movement at all. Holding the camera hurts so much that I can only do it for a limited time, having it around my neck does essentially bluff my way through for appearences, but it doesn't do much more than that.

I'll explain properly if people want, - I really don't mind.

People are helping me in such a way that I'm eternally grateful and I really don't know how to express how thankful I am, I really am overwhelmed by people's kindness. I think it's only fair that people will know how/why it will help me and so forth, if they want to.

They have already donated new kit to the first project. All the parts we need need to be working as new but we only need a sub set of the whole 055 tripod!

we just want pictures taken using the new setup :)

Seriously though, if people want to know, I'm more than happy to tell

I don't think that's necessary Nattelie.

I think we're all just a little amazed at how well this forum has come together to help members. It's been very uplifting to follow the threads about Wheels and now you....

[S1]Im with you all the way on that[/S1]

The last month has been so unreal for me personally, and I am so made up that Nat is going to have a much easier time also.

I do know about Nattalies condition and she is amazing the way she copes with extreme pain. She still has time to support other people though. She truly deserves our help and our admiration.Have sent a little to help.

 Added to the pot.
I just want to say that for this and all future projects, that it is great to see the faith in human kind restored.
From an objective point of view (and it's 3.30am so i am probably not going to word this right!!), with physical disabilities like these, a lot can be said for lifting the spirits 'out of the chair' so to speak, improving mental health which will hopefully improve the outlook on the physical health.
These fantastic things that are being done, really, really can't be truly appreciated as much for what they do, by us able bodied people. And I'm sorry I don't mean to patronise anyone, I'm just overwhelmed by the generosity etc.
I think the plethora of people that have helped so far appreciate the amount of enjoyment we get out of getting out and photographing and how much being able to share in this helps us all.
:clap::love::clap:

Seriously, thank you everyone for your donations. I still have stuff to buy but found some really nice waterproof push buttons on ebay. They are a little more expensive than I was hoping but they do look the business.

Still need a little more but we are getting there now.

I have asked Mark to make me a new design plate for Nat and he is just seeing if he has the materials....

Natsbracket.jpg

Google sketchup is not very intuitive and it is the first time i've used it!

BUT

  • The corners would be rounded off
  • The large hole is 35mm in diameter
  • The small hole is 10mm in diameter

The large expanse of space to the left is for a special one off radio transmitter module with 2 large buttons.

One button when pressed will transmit to the receiver (hanging from the camera) and the camera will FOCUS.

The second button will make the camera take a picture BUT if the second button is pressed for 3 seconds a light will come on, the shutter will open and Nat can take her hand away. Then when she presses it again the shutter will close so she can take long exposure shots.

The whole plate will be covered in heavy duty foam like you get on motorcycle racing seats.

NP If you need anything we stock a fair amount of ally I'll save plugging my company for another thread lol :).

Thanks everyone.

I have located some really nice waterproof buttons which I am ordering tomorrow for the radio remote (Nat) & wired remote (Wheels) (£35 for 10 !! - extremely heavy duty and we will have some spare for project 3-).

Spent four hours today repairing Wheels' laptop which cost about £20 in the end but that is everything now for Wheels.

So we are still ok but there are a few things we still need :)

UPDATED LATER IN THE THREAD

Well I have just received 2' x 1' of very adhesive heavy duty stick on foam :) so the assembly can be foam covered.

Anybody got about 1m of pipe lagging foam in the Preston area ? :)

If anyone is wanting to see the wanted list it is as follows:

6 x 9v batteries
a gorillapod
pipe lagging foam
2 x waterproof latching switches
black low voltage 4-6 core cable (although I would chop something up if nec)

plus the items promised or purchased which are on route

waterproof buttons
222 head
aluminium plates
Manfrotto arm/clamp

I will be building the "Nat's special remote control" today (although I will be using stunt buttons till the ordered ones arrive!) :)

THAT should sort out Nat's project and we SHOULD have a chunk of the stuff for a 3rd setup minus the specifics for that one.

WOOPS !!!!

Due to an accounting error (which I blame on Excel) we have overspent and we are currently short rather than have money left over so if anyone else was looking to donate then it would be appreciated. Not much left to get now and we should have two very happy TP members plus we will be carrying stock of parts nearly adequate for a third.

how much cable would you like? I'll have a little dig about, might need to be single/dual core in a cable tidy

I just need about 3 metres of 4 core not too heavy duty cable in black if possible. I have just realised that I have a real of alarm cable which is 6 core in white in the attic so I can fall back on that if I have to.

so either 3m of 4 core or 6m of dual core or 12m of single core stranded together then :D

if all else fails I think I have a drum of black speaker cable which is light gauge, stranded (better for vibrations) and stuck in pairs so would be easy to run

To be honest unless it is 4 core I might as well use the alarm cable :)
