Well yesterday my first ever DSLR camera arrived, in the end I decided to go for the Nikon D5000 with 2 lens, 8 GB memory card, 2 uv filters and a camera bag.

So I have made this thread to document my progress in photography with my first ever DSLR. I am hoping to look back in a years time and see a vast improvement hopefully lol.

Sorry I have fallen behind on this already i went away for a long weekend to the Isle of Wight. Which means all of this patch of pictures are from my weekend to the IOW.

We were on the motorway on the way to the ferry and I spotted this double decker bus on the motorway which I found quite amusing.

This picture was taken as the ferry was pulling out from Portsmouth I just love the colours, the movement in the water and how the clouds look.

I just love the orange beak and eyelashes on the turaco they are such a pretty bird.

Some absolutely lovely images so far!

I particularly love the double decker bus shot, Portsmouth harbour shot is insanely awesome. And the rope has incredible detail and great DoF!

I wanted to try something different today and I love Brionys (sp) self portait 365. So I went with the title "Superficial" as I feel in modern society alot of things including how women look has become extremely superficial.

I am not sure I am entirely happy with how these came out, they are vey over exposed but I felt that it suited the image.

My friend thought this image worked better with the focus on the lips and the facial expression so this is offical day 11 image.
