Professional trade body/orgs

Hi,

I've just recently started up professionally, mainly weddings and portraits. I was just wondering what people's opinions are of trade organisations ie BIPP, MPA, SWPP etc. Are you a member? What have you got out of being a member? I guess the main questions is....is it worth the money?

Sorry Sarah, the only one I'm a member of is the BPPA. Worth every penny in my opinion, but haven't much experience of any others. Guys I know who do a lot of weddings speak highly of the SWPP but other than that, I'm not sure.

I do know more SWPP members than the other two though, although that might just be a clique of friends?

I'd be interested in hearing more about this too. I am currently choosing between MPA and BIPP. I've discounted SWPP as their offer seems a little tacky and their entry requirements not very rigorous.
