Hi everyone

I've noticed a few threads as of late with issues - I am addressing them all as soon as I possibly can. We've been inundated with orders with some recent promotional work and we've been creeking at the seams.

I've also had some staffing problems which is affecting the day to day running of things. However - things are turning round and I am chasing orders through for people. Hopefully I'll get on top of the situation on Wednesday. I'd rather be up front with you all than sat here in silence :)

I take on board all feedback and criticism alike and do take a lot of it personally as I've built the business up from nothing. Please do bear with us - I promise to get everything back to the high standards you all expect from me as soon as I possibly can.

I''ve replied to a few emails and PM's recently and anything else I shall try and address on my return from Focus.

If anyone would like to come and have a chat about anything tomorrow - I'll be at 'spoons at 12 O clock. You shouldn't be able to miss me :)

Thanks all

Lee

Lee, might I suggest you use some sort of request tracker system that notifies customers that their request is being dealt with? There are plenty out there, such as RT.

I've ordered 3 x 20"x30" glossy prints from Lee, everything went as smoothly as could be expected over the New Year and the prints are good quality.

I have recently bought a monitor off Lee and I look forward to getting some prints and canvases done in the future. I am sure he has had problems recently but as he has said atleast he is on here publicly trying to sort them rather than denying or avoiding them.

It is good to see the negative comments as well as the positive - allows everyone to make an informed decision and it hasn't got stupid which is good.

I ordered quite a few large prints 18 by 12 on the special offer as well as a couple of other sizes and the quality was superb the best I've ever had done . Unfortunately there were a few missing prints from the order and I never managed to get it sorted.
Shame as I do want to order some more prints from Lee, would still use them again, just googled and the site seems to have gone :( looks like I will have to find another printers

It was down for maintenance/server improvements.

Is working again now

Hey Mark/Pete

Thanks for resurrecting this. Pete - did I speak with you on the phone yesterday? Or was that another Pete with 18x12's :)

Sorry for the absence for the last week. We've had to move to a bigger server to comply with PCI and to serve the demand we're now under.
We're on a dedicated server now, with greater bandwidth (throughput) and much bigger processors.

We've also taken on another member of staff - so Lynsey will soon be taking over a lot of the TalkPhotography communication (PM's mainly) and helping in the print room. We're aiming as of 1st April to get all orders (including none-coated canvasses) printed and shipped the same day.

We also have 7 new ranges of frames that will be released shortly on the website - some very modern items coming from us to add to our collection of items.

You may also have noticed that small format media is no longer available on the website. We've done some deep analysis and we can't compete with the likes of DS/Photobox on their small prints and the profit in what we were doing wasn't sustainable in the present economy. Maybe when things pick back up and we get our lovely new shiney Fuji wet lab will we offer them again. So we're sticking to what we know best: canvasses, large format (10" x 12" up) prints, specialist panoramics, acrylics and framing.

We're still here for all bespoke needs - we're just trying to stand out from the crowd.

Any queries or questions - please direct them to info@togsprint.com or call us in the office.

Cheers :)

I just found this thread.
I am interested in getting some canvases done over the next few weeks so I will be placing an order.

I have previously used photobox and my images are near good enough reproduction of what I view here on screen. How will my prints differ (if you know the answer to that)

Thank you

Johnny

Hi Johnny

I've never had anyone comment on our canvasses being dark - or any prints for that matter. Our colours tend to be vivid - not over saturated though :)

I have full control over the print output, and I can usually tell what desired output is required. I also know how different materials change the perception of colour on it - therefore on canvasses I tend to brighten the images, increase contrast slightly etc - and this tends to represent what you see on your screen.

Hope this is of some use :)

Also - a recommendation for canvasses - if there are dark tones in them (lots of shadows too), I recommend getting them spray coated, It really does bring out the detail more than the standard print itself. Plus it protects them.........

Cheers

Lee

EMAILS - I have this issue with a lot of users, they all expect that once they send an email it will be delivered, and as Luke has said he has the screenshots to prove it. That only says it left you email client. Email on a service level, only works as a best effort service. If there are any problems between sender and reciever, it could be dropped anywhere on it's route. Your ISP is a good one for dropping mail if they are busy at the time you send it. The protocols used for mail transport does not contain any error correction or confirmation, so if your mail turns up at a point (midway or either end) with just one packet out of how ever many that was used to build the mail, missing or corrupted, that email is just dropped.
Even the royal mail has better delivery ratios than email. If you need to sort something out use a phone, it is the best and most reliable way in my opinion.

The SMTP protocol does all what you say it doesn't. Email is the most reliable form of correspondence apart from face-to-face/phone. ISP do not and cannot drop packets en route. An email which cannot be delivered (after several times) is returned to the sender.

An email should be treated like a real letter. Orders should be treated as such an always confirmed. Anything else is very bad practice.

I don't think Geordie was talking about packets being dropped (and don't want to turn this thread into techy talk :D) - but more about mail services being impacted.

For example - we moved severs on Tuesday night but the MX records weren't being updated quickly enough - therefore all inbound mail never got to us - and outbound mail was being queued. We've had no emails delivered that were sent whilst our servers were down. Only when we had everything migrated across did outbound mail start going through and some came in bouncing.

But I think that's all sorted now - certainly from yesterday afternoon it was.

By the way, ISP's do drop packets (sometimes unknowingley) due to errors on hardware/cable issues. Most TCP based apps will retransmit the data, however slow responses can be seen/major impact to applications etc.

Just a quick bump from me to say I got a bespoke size pano print done at Togsprint and the quality is fantastic! It's a mono shot and the print is a neutral grey with no noticeable colour cast. Quick turn around and helpful info and comms from Lee. They will definitely be getting more custom from me in the very near future! Great stuff

Haven't read the thread fully so apologies if this is out of place but togsprint has done a couple of big prints for me and I've been very happy with them.

Just recieved another batch of large prints from Lee (togsprint) , again superb really pleased also sorted the couple missing from the last order staight away :):)
It was me who you spoke with about the 18 by 12's :)

As per Jhonny1982's query I spoke to Lee before getting my first ones done as I had had them done elsewhere before and they were a bit dark but the ones Lee did where perfect, really bright

Lee - I meant to ask - how does this affect those that have websites with you, can we still have the small format option printing through that?

Kelly

Yes indeed. You may find that the prices have gone up though to compensate for the failing pound against the yen though, that is all :)

I think this only applies to a few people whilst the new service is being developed in the background.

Frames........:bat:

:D

Just wanted to say that I ordered a canvas form Lee and it was superb, the print quality is fantastic and the pic is now pride of place in our dining room.

Ill defiantly use them again next time I want something.

Would like to add to this comment, received a canvass print from Lee at the weekend and it looks fab!

Oh and a reminder, Lee will be at the convention, sharing his knowledge so make sure you get your bookings in ;)

Hi Lee,

Been trying to get through to you on the phone for an hour or so now. I will keep trying but i have a few questions before i place an order.

1. I am wanting to get some a3 prints done but cannot find this size listed although you do have 16x12.

2. How do i go about getting the TPF 10% discount?

3. When i last had some prints done online with photo box they came out a little dark so im a bit worried the same could happen?

I have left a message on your answerphone as Mr Clay.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Ant

Apologies - I've had some 'car trouble' today so we had to leave early to go and get it picked up before the garage closed at 5PM.

I'm aware I have a few messages bleeping on the phone so I'll deal with them in the morning.

A3 is a size we don't print specifically - the nearest to it would be 16" x 12" (it's only a couple of mm out too).

To get the TPF discount, simply email me once registered on www.togsprint.com and I'll add your email account to the TPF group.

And regarding the dark prints, we do have full picture control (brightness) and will happily edit them to suit the media it's being printed on free of charge :)

I'll have a listen to the messages and call you tomorrow :)

Lee

Hello Matt

By default they're printed on gloss/lustre/satin. We do offer a custom size canvas service should you be wanting a stretched panoramic canvas :)

Added you to the discount group - you'll get 10%off at the checkout before shipping.

Just want to say what a great chap Lee is. He called me as promised, we discussed what the options were and he was very helpful indeed. Even gave me some advice on processing which was cool!

Cant wait to get the prints tomorrow now to see what they turn out like!

Offer ends Saturday 11th April.

Is that the correct price of the 24x16 gloss prints?

Ordered a 16x12 print last sunday (tiger portrait), fantastic as always!
Tempted by these prices for the canvas prints...

Plus....didn't they go through batch problems with the panels?

Not spoke to him for ages. He had a mint 328GTB for sale a while ago. I would have offered him decent money for it but his neighbour sold it elsewhere.

He has a VERY nice 911 Carrera in the shed...........

I just want to say that the prints i recieved from Lee are great quality. I shall certainly be using Lee's services again, great guy to deal with. Got some more prints heading your way very soon.
