Hey everyone

As a follow on from our old thread in the 'For Sale' section - our new advertising allows us to have a thread in the TalkPhotography section instead :)

If you've never come across me yet, my name is Lee and I run a printing company called togsPrint.com.

We're a small family based company from Leeds and specialise in large format printing and canvases. We have the facilities onsite to print from as small as passport photographs right through to 44" x 40m should you desire!

Either myself or one of the members of my small team check the prints thoroughly before being sent out. We don't admit to being perfect - but we try to be as thorough with checking as possible.

We print on the typical gloss, lustre, satin and canvas as well as textured fine art materials, watercolour and archival matte paper where longevity is required.

Our website boasts our standard sizes and prices - and you'll be pleased to know that all TalkPhotography members get 10% off their checkout total!

For photographers out there that are running full time or need that little bit more effort from a printer - we are there for you. We will happily ship direct to your customers door - with packaging that resembles your company and not ours. We will build bespoke items for you, print any size and shape that you or your client may need. All you need to go is contact myself through PM on here or via our website and we'll come back to you as soon as we can. We also offer 'trade pricing' for regular purchasers and are considering accounts for people who put through more than £500.00 of orders per month.

The website is here: http://www.togsprint.com

We accept payment via paypal and credit/debit card. For those of you local to us, we also offer collect in store if convenient.

Please note that all sizes indicated are in inches and not cm! Some people do get this confused :) Canvasses take typically 2 days to turn around or 3 days if they are being coated due to the dry time. Prints are usually shipped the next day - but someone will be in touch if there are any delays.

Many thanks everyone

Lee

Hi there.

Cheers

Lee

I'm interested in 20x30's, or more specifically 20x20's.
I just want to make sure prices are correct, I've only had 18x12's printed and at £1.10, those are a bargain.
20x30's are not 17 times bigger, but I do understand the concepts of bulk stock purchase and popularity...:)

actually, do you go bigger than 20x30 on paper ?

So how do we get the discount then?

Hey everyone

18x12's are on special offer at the moment - by a large factor! The usual price will be returned at the end of the month :)

20x30's are starting to get more popular - the problems we (printers) are up against at the moment is the strength of the pound against the yen.

My ink costs have gone up over £200 per month since November - yet I'm trying to absorb as much as it as possible (for the long run when things should stabilise).

I'm constantly pushing my suppliers for better discount rates - and this time it paid off for some 17" media - therefore the 18x12 price as they are.

WRT to the discount - once you've registered on the site, PM me your email address and I'll add you to the TalkPhotography group. This will add the discount to your cart at the end (10%).

As mentioed - for regular buyers, we do offer a trade account which will give you 30% off the cart total (minimum spends apply per month).

Cheers

Lee

Hi Ian

Yes - collection and payment is possible onsite :)

Lee

Hi everyone

The 18x12 offer ends on Sunday. Stocks are running out fast so get in quick to guarantee your order.

In addition to this - all our stretched canvasses have 15% discount until Feb 28th!!!

Please contact me prior to ordering to be added to the TPF Group discount too :)

Oh there you are Lee, still waiting for mine, sent you an e-mail on 16th of January which I will quite happily do I print screen of. No reply.

You blaimed royal mail the first time even though my account didn't say shipped. IMO I don't think you posted them and tried to use Royal Mail as a scape goat. And you know it can't be me trying to get extra prints because I would have had to sign for them. You told me something like they had been shipped and it was just an error on my account. I did get the prints but they were sent from a more recent date so IMO the first ot were never sent. If you did send them im sure Royal Mail re-emberssed you.

Then I ordered again on the 16th of December. Still no photos to this day. The only reason I havn't been bugging you consistantly is because I needed them for Christmas so ended up getting them from Asda. I thought you might eventually reply to the e-mail I sent youon 16th January but you havn't.

I know loads of you guys buy from Togsprint and are fine but 2 out of 3 times for me it has been a complete shambles. I don't feel bad for making this public as my e-mail has been ignored. Im guessing you are going to say it got lost somehow or something. Id be interested to hear what you have to say.

Oh dear, that doesn't bode well now does it?

Nope, im going to go to the cinema with Cayley as we are having our valentines day today. I will quite happily post evidence of the e-mail I sent and a print screen of when I ordered my photos. To be hoest its £15, not going to take it to cought or anything, however if you get a duff lens you make a thread on it. Im simply doing the same about my experience.

Not the sort of thing to put in the Public forum I would think mate..

I had a print requested before Christmas and there were issues with the delivery and Lee in the end printed an additional 2 copies, In the end it turned up but the other two were lost to the courier gods.

Did I have to pay for the extra prints, no... was I happy with the service Yes.... The one I was waiting on was also a Christmas present but I was happy to wait for it. All I did was print an A4 version of the canvas and wrote a little note on the back saying "stand me in water for a couple of weeks and I will grow..."

I am sure there is a reason for Lee not responding have you tried phoning him.

I get great prints and good service from Lee and the guys ..... I do not think one delivery issue will stop me from using him.

Give him a call if the answer machine kicks in just leave a message, he always gets there in the end.

To be honest I appreciate that this might not be the ideal place to post it however I have far better things to do that phone Lee, I will just never use a company again. If I get bad food at a restaurant, I won't complain, just never eat there again.

Also as I said if anyone gets a bad Sigma lens do they post it in a thread- yes they do, poor Sigma.

Also had this been the first cock up I would not have posted however it is the second.

I did speak to Lee once, sounded like a really nice guy, hence the reason why I didn't post this straight away.

And lastly after Christmas Lee e-mailed me and said that it was touch and go whether I would have got it for Chirstmas (even though I didn't see anything on the webiste saything this). I accepted this and waited for my prints to come, still no arrival. If Lee has a very good reason I will quite happily delete my posts.

EDIT P.S I used Togsprint because of all the glowing reports which I trusted. If people are going to give glowing reports I think its fair to give the bad ones. And maybe Togsprint will make sure this never happens again.

I have had the same problems. On numerous occasions prints either turned up far later than expected, or not at all.

I've ordered about 4/5 sets of prints. I think only 3 actually turned up. Only 2 arrived quickly/on time.

I'm sorry but Royal Mail don't loose stuff so often. Especially with Special Delivery. I use RMSD all the time (and have been doing so for years) for eBay items and have never had anything go missing.

My most rescent order (placed weeks before xmas) was supposed to be for an xmas present. No prints turned up, and still have not arrived to date. Also my emails were ignored so I gave up.

The quality of the prints is good though. I have several large A2 posters (I think one of the only orders that arrived...it took ages though) which are of good quality. I used togsprint for my portfolio shots, was happy with the results. However, I was disappointed with a few B+W prints that I ordered...had a purple tint to it...suggesting that it was printed in RGB not CYMK (no printer should be printing in RGB...it makes no sense).

Shutterman - It is the thing that should be brought to light on a public forum. People deserve to know this kind of stuff, and Lee should be ensuring it doesn't happen in the future.

In this case I am very happy I posted. I appreciate Lee is probably a nice guy and some of you have relationships with him but at the end of the day I feel you have to treat this like its any other company and I will also say that the quality of prints were good, which is a shame that I have to find another company.

Hi guys

If you would like to give the office a call - then I can try and sort it out for you as opposed to rambling on here.

I can appreciate frustration with no email reply (I've been on holiday you know in January) and I can somewhere in the region of 100 - 150 emails per day, as well as PM's and endless calls from people. Not to mention that I spend a good amount of the time per order sorting out problems for people (ie cropping, cloning etc).

We always keep proof of posting for 3 months should we need to recover anything / prove anything. I can guarantee that all prints leave us once they are declared are 'Shipped' ?

Butters - what's your email address? I can try and see where you order is. We've had no returns here of RMSD items for ages. Yes with couriers though.

And we don't print in RGB either!!!

NB: if I recall when I printed your order - some of your images weren't cropped right either and I ended up doing this for you too based on the order details at no extra cost.

yes it was most appreciated, and another reason why I didn't say something sooner. And being on holiday is no excuse for me not getting prints. If your running a company it is your responability to provide a good service. I won't be calling the office, I will be finding another company. And it is a shame because the prints are a good quality and you were helpful, even when you gave discount and I wasn't sure whether I would be able to keep up with the amount I needed to buy.

Luke

The holiday could have been a reason why I didn't respond to your email. However, I've checked the inbox and there's nothing from you on the 16th and I wasn't away til the 24th.

Matt was around for the week I was away and resolved some delivery problems then too.

I'm next to the phone if you want to call - I can try and get another set sorted for you.

I can call you if you send me a number.

Guys - a phone call can be sorted out directly in future - the internet is great for research but there's nothing like speaking to someone direct to resolve an issue as opposed to letting it build into something like this. I for one always give someone a call if something isn't quite right.

Butters - checked your order online. I've pinged you an email.

You can't really be much more reasonable than that.

got to go to cinema, someone tell me how to do quote an e-mail. And Lee as I said over £15 im not the type of person to call, I just wont bother in future, just me. And if it wasn't the second time I wouldn't have been as bothered.

Luke

£0.01 or £10,000 - always give me a ring! if I don't know about problems - I can't sort them :)

Help anyone,

I've been trying to order some of these 99p 12x18 prints but they seem to be £9?

So either,

1/ I'm making a mistake somewhere, very possible!

or

2/ The offer is finished?

any ideas?

I knew it finished today, it's posted on this thread, presumed it would be midnight! It must have been 5-6 pm, close of business perhaps.

Ah well. :bang:

LOL :)

You did get in touch last night and get your account sorted out - so I will honour the price :)

Ill PM you on the details

Respect Luke for giving an honest opinion and now resolving the matter via PM. Bringing this to the publics attention is good IMO. It helps new customers to decide. You give a negative on service but a high positive on quality. I hope it hasn't put too many off. I'm sure you did email on 16th but dont forget emails can easily get lost in the post. It is not 100% reliable either. If Lee never received the email then there is nothing he could have done.

I have not used TogsPrint yet but I am goin to despite a couple of problems reported on here. It seems to me that Lee believes in customer service and satisfaction and, although a little late for some, will do his best to help resolve a situation. I understand that there are always problems now and again with companies but a good company is one that is prepared to go that extra mile to help to resolve issues.

Well done Lee for trying to sort things out for the couple of problematic orders mentioned above.

Look forward to placing an order soon.

And respect to you, I don't want to put anybody off and I meant what I said about quality and to be honest the service was GREAT apart from actually recieving, I have sent Lee proof of sending the e-mail and we are going to resolve it. I don't for one second think that Lee is trying to screw anyone over, just that things could have been done better. And im sure im in a small minority of having problems however just like I stated before, if we have problems with lenses of even suppliers its always talked about and I wouldn't have bought it up if it had been the first time or my e-mail hadn't been replied to. Maybe this was just a very unfortunate situation.

Luke

EMAILS - I have this issue with a lot of users, they all expect that once they send an email it will be delivered, and as Luke has said he has the screenshots to prove it. That only says it left you email client. Email on a service level, only works as a best effort service. If there are any problems between sender and reciever, it could be dropped anywhere on it's route. Your ISP is a good one for dropping mail if they are busy at the time you send it. The protocols used for mail transport does not contain any error correction or confirmation, so if your mail turns up at a point (midway or either end) with just one packet out of how ever many that was used to build the mail, missing or corrupted, that email is just dropped.
Even the royal mail has better delivery ratios than email. If you need to sort something out use a phone, it is the best and most reliable way in my opinion.

:lol::lol:

I guess the "Request delivery receipt" and "High Priority" is the email version of RMSD!!

:)

It's still got to be delivered in the first place and the user can disable read requests / reciepts as these generate more traffic across your network.:geek:

Damn, I have been so busy of late with work and things outside of work that I missed the excellent deal on the 12x18.

Look forward to placing my order with you soon Lee and seeing the results:thumbs:
