Have been asked to do some product shots for a local company I know, and I was just wondering what is the best setup, for products on a white background. Cheers

Hi, they are bottles of cooking oils, with labels on a wight background, crisp clean x

checkout lencarta's lighting blog there's probably a lot of info on product photography

Hadn't seen that lencarta site before, came into this thread looking for some product photography tips too and there are some fantastic tutorials on there.

Cheers for the link :)

One shot that looks good (if you develop it right) is to shoot the bottle placed over a hole in a flat opaque white surface, fire your flash up from underneath through the hole, making sure to kill all the ambient light above. Faff about with various reflectors, its a brilliant playabout. Similar is to shoot the bottle on a black base with lots of carefully placed holes in the card and again fire a flash from underneath, with no ambient above, this looks mental, I had loads of this **** but deleted the lot in a drunken clearup:'(
