I'm supposed to be writing a 4,000 word assignment on the role of the Company Secretary in a listed company.... Sounds exciting doesn't it. I currently have 800 words of utter tripe written. So here is me not doing it but pretending to do it so my hubby doesn't beat me (jk). So can someone please entertain me or get me motivated to do what I"m supposed to be doing!
 
OOh do you know if anyone else on the same assignment?

When I was doing my teacher training, we'd write one very loose essay between us in the pub, in between all the nuts & booze.
Someone would take it home, email it to the rest of us... then we'd all put our own spin on it.
Amazing how well I did really :lol:
 
You'd have thought they already knew what a Company Secretary does... can't you find a webby on google and mail them the link? :shrug: :lol:


Might not too many marks for it though... :thumbsdown:
 
800 X 5 = 4000, just repeat it over and over, if you do it for long enough it becomes the truth:shrug:
 
Considering it is the governing body for which I'm writing this for I'm thinking they do indeed know what we do all day. Well I think if you are the cosec of a listed company you don't do much all day Joe! But the staff sure as hell does!!! Besides most of my job this time of year is handholding of your types joe! ;)
 
All they need to know is that Secretaries usually run the place but get paid a paltry sum and the 'boss' gets all the glory! Secretaries know everything (I'm not one but know some and it's amazing what power they actually wield if they broke certain confidances!;)

Man I so wish I could do that with my dissertation in a years time. I'm really not looking forward to 10000 words :(

As for procrastination purposes, I suggest typing "flash games" into google and clicking a few links. Hours of fun to be had right there!

Problem with procrastination is that you always regret it, no matter what. :D

I've done a whole 1,000 words. I've got till next Monday but I had wanted to bring it to my lecturer today to get his opinion. Now I get to just wing it! I'm the only one on the course who already does it for a living so I think I get lacsidasical about the whole thing.
 
Aren't they the bosses wives that get this role?

They're also the ones that go to jail for irregularities aren't they? Making sure the books are in good order and not cooked.

If you are anything like me you could be sitting ANYWHERE ELSE having loads of fun but you will be worrying about the thing:bang:
 
We are described as the "conscience of the company" IF we do our job right! It is confusing having Secretary in the title my mom thinks I get coffee and file for a living. (sometimes not to horribly far from the truth unfortunately)
