Hi,

I am still quite new to photography (approx 6 months) until now I have always taken pictures in Jpg purely down to not understanding Photoshop or lightroom properly. I keep seeing before and after pictures taken in raw and I am liking the end results so I am tempted to start shooting in raw.

One example is this.....

I know this was done in lightroom but does anyone here know how to get the effect with the sky? I have always quite liked the "moody" sky effect but I really have no idea how to go about doing it in lightroom. Any ideas?

If the sky hasn't been added after I'd guess a lot of recovery/highlights probably a gradient fliter for the sky, a boost of saturation/viberance and possible some clarity will get you close-ish

^^^^ +1 & maybe a constrast increase, there has also been a lot of yellow added to the sky (and reflection in the water) but this has been done selectively as its not present on the cars... I'd guess he brushed in in.... if you look at the reflection of the spolier in the 2nd pic you can see where they have missed painting in the yellow between the bonnet and the boot
