Is there anyway to process a RAW file from my D3100, and turn it into the same JPEG file my camera would have produced if shot in JPEG mode? I know I can shoot in RAW + JPEG in camera, but wondered if there was a way of doing this during PP? I have Lightroom and PS available - is there a D3100 plugin or something which will process the RAW NEF file the same way as it would be handled in camera? Thanks.

Only Nikon's own software (View NX2 - free, or Capture NX2 - pay) can read the in camera settings.

PS and Lightroom can only see the WB setting. You can, however, set the picture controls, sharpening, contrast etc. in Lightroom how you want them and save that as a preset. Any raws you open will then use the preset settings as a starting point.

You can download presets that mimic the cameras jpeg, I have seen them somewhere.

They are called camera profiles by Adobe and they come as part of Lightroom/ACR, you no longer have to download them seperately. They do not give you exactly the same as the in camera jpegs as there are other settings in camera such as saturation, contrast etc. that Adobe cannot read from the raw.

You are correct, it was LR 1.0 I think they were extra.
