Never needed to return anything to these people, (yet) anthony so I will be interested in hearing how you get on.

Good luck.

Me to, as i am just about to buy from them again. I bought a SX50 for my daughter, I did not even know they were not a UK company until I saw this thread, it was shipped from within the UK so I was led to believe.

their uk address (at bourne house, Carlisle) is a business centre offering virtual office and message forwarding - there aren't any warehouse facilities at that site

There's nothing UK about them. They aren't a UK company & pay no VAT.
Basically you're just buying on the internet from a Hong Kong company, who import `grey` goods to a logistics/handling company in Crawley, which then ships to you.

Do they ? I thought PCS parcels came straight in from HK ?

Many of the people who have bought from them have had direct imports (a customs declaration wouldn't be present on something posted within the UK).

their Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens seems to have risen sharply since last week i believe it was £1479 its now £1655.99  whats going on there then !!

Its probably out of stock - a lot of grey retailers increase thier prices dramatically when an item is out of stock in order to deter orders they can't fill.

I have bought a couple of lenses from them recently, absolutely no problems. You have to weigh up any potential hasssle against the cost savings then make up your own mind.

I returned a camera I couldn't get on with after about 10 days they were good as gold full refund with a couple of days no problem

I think they charge a restocking fee if its not as new inc packing though

Did that go back to a place called P J Camera Repairs too? I've sent my lens there, waiting to here back from them or PCS regarding a replacement or refund.

Just an update on my lens replacement..

I posted it back to the PCS repair shop on Tuesday (at £7 cost to me because I wanted to check it got there and was insured), and it arrived Wednesday. They emailed me to let me know they are checking the lens today (Friday). I am under the impression that if a fault is found they will refund some, or all, of my postage. If no fault is found I am liable to pay the postage and it will be accepted as a refund within 14 days.

They have responded to emails quickly through-out the process, and given me options on whether I want my money back or another lens. I have a feeling some other online camera shops would have sent me a replacement quicker, other than that no real complaints so far. Hopefully they email me later today or early next week with their conclusion and proposed solution.

Yep is definitely gone, wonder if it will come back under a different name.

True, doesn't look good for the lens I just sent back to them then! Though perhaps it's just their web server that's having problems..

I`ve not read through all the posts here but for what its worth I`ve used HDEW a few times now. They are based about 5 minutes away from me, have a UK office, UK staff and some UK stock. I`ve bought two Canon bodies and one Canon lens from them. The one time I did have a problem they swapped the item no questions asked. They also come with 3 year warranty from a UK repair centre. As they are a UK company there are no extra tax costs involved, what you see is what you pay inclusive of VAT. Personally I cant fault them.
