problem with raw files

this has proberly been addressed before but as the serch is down i will post it anyway

ok ive a new d300s and cs3, so have problems with the nef raw files(its a known support issue)

does anyone have a way to convert these files into cs3 without converting them using abode dng..

Do you have the latest updates for cs3 camera raw 4.6 should support the d300 I think (from memory) you shouldn't need to convert them to dng.
EDIT I see it's the d300s you have, ignore my earlier comments, your camera shipped after support for CS3 was stopped so DNG is the only way I'm afraid.

nah long time since i was a student..

what i was worried about with the nef=dng files is there any loss of quality..also didnt know if there was a thrid party plugin...

i dont think i will be able to get away with spending any more cash on cs4 upgraded..i might find something of my personage missing in the morning

You shouldn't see any loss in quality converting images to DNG files. However DNG files are smaller than most RAW files due to the lossless compression they use so you do save some space

You won't loose anything important with your D300s, but I'd hang on to the original raw as well as the dng.
