Problem with pse9

Wonder if anybody can help

Every time i use the Lasso tool pse9 freezes and comes up as not responding. I can continue with the tool but it does not show where you are drawing and then once you meet up the ends of the line the program springs into life and the marching ants appear around what i have just drawn.

I know this is a Tech problem but wondered if anybody had any possible solutions its driving me mad

The only thing I can suggest is ensuring that PSE9 has all the memory it wants.
Go to Edit / Preferences / Performance and set the memory usage up to the top of the stated ideal range then reduce the History States to whatever you feel is required, the number of states relate to how many undo steps you can apply and depends on your editing - for a simple edit 10 or 20 may be OK.
You do not need to restart anything after making the changes.
Also shut down all other programs so that PSE9 can grab all the memory it wants.
The above may not help at all but is worth a try.

Thanks, i have ramped up the RAM and will give it a go to see it if works
