Hey all,
Help me please.
Iwas attempting to upgrade the firmware on my Nikon D40, from v1.10 to v1.11. There is some A and B aspect of it, when you look at the firmware version. Well, in my updating the B part was updated and is now v1.11 however, the A part still is v1.10. I tried redoing the update but to no avail. How do I access the A aspect to upgrade it to v1.11?
Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Oli R C

Yes, it went directly to B and upgraded that but not A. How do I get to A to upgrade it?

Hi Oli R C

Yes, it went directly to B and upgraded that but not A. How do I get to A to upgrade it?

What I mean is, there are 2 separate procedures to go through, to update a D40, if both A + B firmware are at V1.10. Were both A +B at V1.10 before you started?

Yes, they both were at 1.10. I've downloaded both bin files and they are on the memory card. Only the B file was upgraded to v1.11 on the camera though.

Sorry, I should of understood from the first post. :D

Only one version can be updated at a time. Meaning you should use the A BIN file first, then do the same with just the B BIN file.

Did you put both BIN files on to the memory card to do the update?

Yes I did. Do I then, have to delete the B file and leave only the A and try the update again?

Oli R C

You're a life saver!!!!!
Thank you so very much. I deleted the B file and got to upgrade the A.
Thank you so much again.
Have a great day. I will, now.

Ha ha. Good stuff. I was just checking about doing it in the wrong order before I gave advice on how to proceed, but glad you've done it without my instructions.

Now that both firmwares are at V1.11, you can perform the second update, which is the second link I posted above. That will update version A to v1.12

Already doing it. The correct way this time. LOL
Thank you again.
