Hi guys, i'm trying to process multiple files raw to jpg. Normally i just select the folder with the raw files using process multiple files then select an output folder and away we go nice and easy. Now for some reason the shots i took yesterday are causing me problems, i uploaded as usual select folders but when i click go i get a message saying either the folder with the raws in is empty or could not complete as drive is not available. i tried on different folders and it works ok it's just this particular folder so i tried deleting then uploading again thinking this may help but i still get the same response every time i try.
It's got me stumped any ideas?
I'm using elements 9 on a mac.

Are these "new" images from camera or are they pics you have edited before? Have you ckecked the file extensions are correct? And have you checked the actual file size for each image to see if they look right for raw, they are not just xmp files or something.

Yes they are all .nef files straight from camera exactly as i always do it and this is the first time i ever had problems.

Have you tried dragging one image at a time in to photoshop and see if it opens them that way? maybe the folder is too big for some reason.
Are these images on your computer (downloaded) or are they still in camera/card?
Do you have any other photo programs to open the images to check they are ok?

They are all on the computer, i can open them all one at a time and edit them no problem at all, it's just the batch processing that won't work.
It's not a huge problem just really annoying as the first thing i normally do is convert to jpeg so i can view them in slide show and get rid of the crap before editing individual files, as raw files i can only view thumbnails one at a time and they're too small to see properly.
I've checked everything i can think of and everything you've mentioned and all seems normal so i'm completely stumped.

Are they on C drive (same as os) or are they on a second hard drive?
As a quick fix you could download instant jpeg from raw, it extracts the jpegs in the raw files, with a nikon you get a medium size jpeg (or smaler if you wish) and use these to view the images quickly.
I'm assuming elements 9 doesn't come with bridge?

Yes mate they're on the main drive and sorry it's elements 8 not 9 it has bridge but i get the same thing using that it's as if the folder just doesn't exist where elements multiple files command is concerned. I've uploaded more pics last night and they were fine no problems at all.

I had a similar (but not identical) problem some months ago with PSE 9 and .nef files.

I cured the problem - or it went away - by not downloading direct from the camera, but by removing the card from the camera and downloading from that. The PC still says it is a Nikon camera but something must be different.

I always take the card out and do it that way now. Can't see why that should make a difference, but it appeared to.......
