You can't, besides - why would you? Just have it as your portfolio site for now, nothing wrong with that. Just don't mention anything about the fact you're a business or offering services for money?

Also, this isn't specifically relating to this thread - but I did see your other thread regarding how to focus properly with your camera. When I first bought my Canon one of the very first things I did was watch it, actually if I remember correctly.. I watched it before I even bought my camera!

Search for "Canon Autofocus".

It's quite lengthy but well worth the watch.

portfolio site for now..!! What a good idea! Il do it straight away tomorrow! One of my 3 lights has now packed up...great!!

;) Look on the bright side... ;) Time to start getting more creative with your lighting.

Or spend spend spend MORE all the time spend spend spend

Ah well, just knock one other over and once you are down to one you can really get stuck in ;) Just kidding but there is a LOT of sense in learning with one light.

If you are currently using more than one Hannah, how are you metering them?

think il be off to a proper supplier for my photography needs next time! Cant believe its packed in already!

There's also Lencarta who have had some good reviews on here: http://www.lencarta.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=21&Itemid=53 I heard they should be back in stock this week.

Is there a smiley for me attempting to drown myself, failing miserably, but then managing to shoot myself in the head with a .44 magnum while my head is in the oven?

Careful - just got a malware detected warning trying to access the OneLightWorkshop link

I always get that as well.... not sure if it's a false alarm or not....

Zack is aware of that alert - he has raised it with MediaTemple (his webhosts) ... according to his twitter feed a few weeks ago

the model light works, but the flash doesn't..press test..nothing! New bulb maybe?

Try removing it and reinserting it (possibly a few times), or just give it a wiggle. It might simply be a poor connection between the bulb and the light. Don't touch the bulb with bare fingers. Use a clean cloth -teatowel, tissue etc. - so that you don't get any oil/grease on the bulb. If you've had the modeling lamp on then be sure to let it cool first and turn off the mains supply just for extra safety while you fiddle.

You may also have learnt the lesson of buy cheap, buy twice. :)

Hi Hannah,
Have read through this thread with some interest, I am learning a single flash in manual, and find my first shot always is over-bright, and thought this thread might assist.
Anyway, good luck to you, hope it is just a bulb which has gone. It might be worthwhile you getting a couple of spares, you don't want one going in the middle of a shoot, paid or otherwise (some people value their time).
If I may make two comments about your website. Almost all of the pictures seem to be soft to me. It might be the intention, it might just be my eyes are going again.
Also, I am not sure that I would put a map, leading to what appears to be a residential home, which I would assume is your house, on the website.

Good luck

Hannah if you need help with lighting I know of a couple of photographers in Loughborough who would happily help you out I suspect. I'd offer myself but A) I'm going away with work again and B) my lighting sucks.

There's a group of us in the midlands who get together from time to time to practice lighting and shoot TF models, if you're interested in joining us let me know some time.
