I’ve just downloaded some paper profiles so I can convert my images to the correct profile before I upload them for printing. Instead of the .icc files that I have used previously they are .psf files this time.

The instructions say to copy them to the following folder
Users/[Your Username]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Color/Proofing

I have done this but when I try to convert to profile in Photoshop as I would normally do the option for that paper is not in the list.

Anyone got any idea what I can do to get this profile to show I Photoshop CS5?

I've tried renaming them then right clicking and selecting install profile but they still do not show in Photoshop.
I've just installed a couple of different icc profiles today and they are showing in Photoshop ok so doesn't seem to be a problem in photoshop.
I suppose I will have to e-mail them to see if they can help or just choose an online printer with more user friendly profiles.

Can you show us the link to the online printer?

Have you tried right clicking on the file and select install?...(if it has that option like an icc profile does)

Ok thanks for the replies everyone, I emailed the printers and I was barking up the wrong tree the profiles were installed but they are for soft proofing of the files View/Proof Setup.

"They are not paper profiles for printing, they are purely soft proofing profiles intended for people to check their files prior to sending them to us for printing. Once installed you can use the soft proofing function to check for any out of gamut colours etc"

I just have to work out what soft proofing is now, apparently it is not necessary to soft proof but I'm curious now.

Soft proof is checking on your monitor.

There is a soft proofing facility in CS5 isn't there under.....
View>Proof Setup>Custom
