Hi all,

Have been trolling this forum for a very long time, but finally couldn't resist to join. Just a quick question to begin with, *** it's bugging me...

I have bought a D600 recently and I have noticed the exposure level meter is the other way around to my old D7000. On the D600, it's this -_______+ as in the - on the left and the + on the right. Have Nikon changed it on just the D600 or is this their new way now for the newer models?

I don't mind either way but I would like some consistency, is there a way to change it on either the D7000 or D600?

Thanks

I think is a way to do it in the custom setting but not sure how.

Nikon have traditionally had their dials in reverse to other manufacturers, now you can change it in the settings to work either way. Guess that your D7000 and D600 are just on different settings!

Might be a good time to have a quick scan of the manual :)

Have a look at Menu item f5. Could be in there or thereabouts (Customize Command Dials).

Firstly, welcome to the fourm. It's on the custom setting menu F Controls, F8 Reverse indicators.

Thanks guys, I have found it now. I think this is the new Nikon thing, I had a look at the D5200 when I was at Calumet today, and it's the "correct" way around too.

Roy, thanks for the welcome have you also or the D600? What do you make of that?

I have the D600 and before that the D300. I found it strange that it was the other way round so I reversed it to what I was used to.

This is why I said about consistency, I don't mind whichever the design, interface, as long as they are consistent. But I think Nikon still do a better job than Canon.

I only switched from Canon to Nikon about a year ago, and I never found the Nikon way my thing. I read an article saying Nikon changed it because they finally are responding to ex Canon users...

Now I am onto a prime lenses craze...
