Any good? Any Probelms with them? They are coming up trumps with rpices for me!

I just had a look, and all the items I am looking at are all a little pricey...

Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM with 12 month Manufacturer warranty
is what i am after - £689.... can't find it cheaper

Let me make it easy for all of you. I have recently purchased a Canon 50D from Pro Visual Direct.
I paid the money as request, waited one week and they didn't send the caemera I sent few email asking why and for any explenation to what happen to my camera which I paid for it.
After one week I get an email from them saying that it will be delivered after another week, still no explaining and no tracking number for the item which was supposed to be delivered by DHL.

I asked them to refund and didn't need the camera anymore as I was going on holiday, still they wrote back say camera will be delivered, even though I wasn't going to be there to collect it and also I asked for the refund.

Anyway, they decided to refund at them and said that it will take up to 4 working days to receive the money. So, I went on holiday and thought that when I get back should have the money on my account, guess what happens when I returned from holiday. Just checked my account there is nothing in my account, sent them an email and I am still waiting to hear from them and see what they are going to say.

Personally I think they ignorant, they don't care about the customers, unprofessional and take it from my experience don't deals with Pro Visual Direct, the guy who cliams to be Paul doesn't care about you or your money.

I am still waiting for refund and I am not sure when I will be getting it.

Mod edit: where's the roll eyes smiley when you need it

Admin Edit : This post has been removed because stevens289 is commercially linked to Pro Visual Direct, yet is posting as a 'customer'. Cheap trick.

I'm pretty sure they are related to Bentonville Mall who developed a bad reputation. Do a search on them. Same address. Saying that, I did take a chance on Pro Visual for a pair of Nikon bino's and they arrived in decent time and as described. Had I known at the time they were Bentonville I would not have ordered.

We have used Pro Visual Direct for over 9 months at the college now and they have been superb. It can be frustrating at first as they operate almost entirely it seems by email but their service has been excellent. We buy mainly Sony Professional Camcorders from them and on the one occasion we had a problem they uplifted, repaired and returned in just over one week. The prices are low and for us it can mean we can buy additional equipment. We used to have a rep with the old supplier who came to visit but ultimately I guess we were paying for him with the inflated cost of the equipment. Pro Visual Direct - keep up the good work!!!!!!!!

I may be wrong here - but I'm always wary of first-time posters declaring nothing but praise for a supplier that has a question mark against them.

I remember over on the huge Simple Electronics thread on AVF, despite many of the "regulars" having problems, the amount of 1st time posters with gushing praise was quite interesting ;)

Pro Visual Direct - I have just had dealings with Paul at Pro Visual Direct and am not at all happy. DO NOT USE THEM. They are terrible at shipping items on time and the WORST of WORST things is they are selling Grey Imports... in my case it was a Sony PMW-EX3 Cam corder for £5.8k. When I tried to register it for the free Sony 2 year support I was met with a big no from Sony. They wanted to know who this Paul guy was and who this company were. They are not preferred suppliers and Sony were dissapointed they were selling grey imports to their professional customers. again, avoid avoid avoid!

Whilst this is out of policy for us, we feel compelled on this occasion to respond to this Forum Posting. We are also discussing the content of the Posting to determine whether we have any legal grounds to enable us to take action against the author. We believe in customers expressing their opinion and welcome feedback but not when it is misleading, wholly inaccurate, and without both substance and understanding of the industry. We hope the following will correct the previous misrepresentation, after all, Forums are for the benefit of users not for personal attacks against businesses or individuals; especially where those concerned are working so hard for this group of professional consumers.

The term Grey Import can be misleading as it can suggest inferior product. This is not the case in this instance as the grey imports refered to are actually parallel imports bypassing the UK division to deliver enhanced pricing to the end consumer. This is only illegal were we to import products which were not already being sold in the UK. There are only 14 Sony authorised UK dealers. We have had discussions with Sony but cannot agree to their pricing structure to be supplied via the UK division. We are supplied by Sony Japan and we have a UK based warranty/repair operation utilising Sony authorised repairers fully comparable with Sony UK. We do not offer Sony prime support and have never suggested otherwise. We have delivered thousands of camcorders and have never reneged on support. The warranty we offer is clearly stated on our web site on view for anyone to see. We have an excellent delivery record with 90 percent of orders supplied within 3 days, over 95 percent delivered within one week and over 99 percent within 14 days. This record for this type of high end professional equipment is better than Sony UK by their own admission. All customers agree to our terms and conditions at the time of purchase - they are far from onerous and nothing is hidden. The wording used by this customer with literally no grounds at all for complaint suggests to us that we may be a victim of a deliberate attempt to damage our very strong reputation amongst our army of repeat customers. We sincerely hope this is not the case. Thank you

Pro Visual Direct

I agree. Everyone's had their say. That should be enough to make a judgement IMO. :)
