The loud peddle apparently locked open (subject of a re-call I believe?)
and one or two have ended up in some serious crap.

Pretty much all of which have been in the grand old US of A and have been called into doubt on technical inspection lol
 
One of many safety faults Toyota have known about since 2006 but have chosen to ignore.
Apparently a case of manslaughter has been put on hold in the UK because an owner of a Prius ran his wife over and dragged her body along under the car, his wife died from her injuries. The driver at the time maintained that his car had sped off on it's own and he was unable to avoid hitting his wife who I assume was standing near the car.

And for some reason all the people i've seen who have had this problem appeared to be over 60...

The Pinto was a POS though... I loved that it was just more cost-effective to let people die and pay the compensation than do a recall and fix the car...lol

I fully endorse that video.

When it first hit the news I remember saying 'Well why don;t they just put it in neutral and hit the brakes?' - Not like it is rocket science really.
 
I think the bloke was just that angry and hiding his face because he'd actually bought a Prius. He needs to get a life and by a car not a tV4d
