Hi,
Tried by own printer for the first time, just for a few prints for my daughters project. The monitor was calibrated some time ago and I have had quite a few lab prints off it. The prints from today were too dark and the colours were faded. Tried messing with various settings but has no effect on the print at all.

The printer is a Kodak 3100, using their inks! Any ideas?

Cheers,

Dunc

I know what you mean... I had the same problem on my last printer... turns out it was the paper. Have you tried the kodak premium gloss paper? Also just to add .. I had a HP C5180... and the best prints weren't from the HP, but from the Kodak paper. I found that the paper you get free with the inks in bulk packets were probably old and if you buy the paper separately it made a real difference. So in short experiment with different paper.... it worked for me given what you said.

Ah, the computer is Vista and the i assume the print software is Kodaks own, never really thought about it!

Go to any supermarket and use original photopaper for this printer. They have different quality too. Take best.

On ordinary office paper pictures are always awful.
