prints dont match computer

basically i am having trouble getting my printouts to look like the image on my computer screen. the two most noticable things are that when they are printed they are more saturated and not as sharp! i have a canon mp495 printer if that helps, but also have the same problem when i get them printed at jessops or online.

Your screen needs to be calibrated.

Search screen calibrate and you will find a number of topics. I am using the phone to post so cannot post a link. Sorry

remember you are looking at two totally different ways to present images.

always sharpen that bit more for prints than what you would do for the screen.

make sure your images are in sRGB not RGB

make sure your screen is calibrated/profiled

make sure you are printing the correct way.
