On a roll tonight...the wife was pricing some t shirts for her class outing and they were damn expensive.....I told her that they would be safer buying their own t shirt print press....anyone out there with experience of t shirt printing..thanks once again
 
What sort of numbers are you talking about - a friend of mine does this as her business and from my limited experience they are good quality and fairly cheap...
If you can give me some sort of idea of numbers and what is involved then I would be happy to ask for a quote !

I thinks around thirty but some may be individual design....Will check and get back to you
 
i used to print my own shirts -( i have 50 screens for sale on gumtree) . what would you like to know ? i learnt myself a little tricky to start with but got the hang of it , single colors are easy the more colors the more complicated it gets.
 
She has seen a flat bed heat press on ebay that allows you to stick your vinyl design (pre printed and cut) to a fabric...would this be better than screen printing?

i started with the transfer type but found after a while it peeled off, whereas screenprints the ink stays in the t-shirt just more work - 1 color prints are easy though - here's a few that i did for myself:




 
For large quantities, screen printing would be the answer but for a small run where individual designs may be needed (let's say "W Berks Primary Cahardonay" etc.) I would go down the inkjet iron on route. I'm sure I've seen packs of the paper in the Range so not expensive. OK, the transfers don't last very well through multiple washes but should d the job the OP wants them to.
 
When screen printing you are charged for the screens and you need a different screen for each colour. So you start putting lots of colours it gets very expensive. Direct to Garment might me your answer if you are only printing 30 and there is several colours.
