Printing non-standard sizes eg for panoramas

I'm wondering how best to go about getting prints made and framed which are exaggerated panoramas, with aspect ratios of 4:1 or more.

The few online printers I've looked at don't seem to cater for this very easily.

The only option I can think of is to increase the canvas size around the image until I get a good fit for one of the standard online print sizes, and get it printed, and then take it into a local framing shop.

Is this the best option or can anyone recommend an online solution which will do everything?

The company up the road from me will print any size up to 50 feet long I think... they will do online orders. Profolab is their name and their prices are reasonable. They use very good printing machines as well - see their website for details

To quote their website
"Larger prints up to 30" deep x length in pro, up to 15metres, will be printed on the Durst Epsilon and ideally the files should be sized at 254dpi. Please specify the important dimension and your image will be printed and then priced accordingly."
