have a kodak all in one printer, isnt a bad printer, 5*7s are fine, but anything bigger is just OK , iynwim
So want to replace it, have about £250-300 to spend, anybody bought a printer in that range lately and are utterly chuffed to bits that they did
i run an imac and want to get into calibrating the printer to the screen

thanks

CanonPixma iP4500Inkjet Photo Printer
I have this about £70.00 spot on for the money

Epsom R800, up to A4, 8 inks, no probs, off the printer 'Fotospeed Ink Flow system'.

I recently bought an Epson 1400. Prints all sizes up to A3+ so may be more than you want, but the quality is excellent, its quick and quiet.
It will also print on cd/dvd`s, if your into that sort of thing!
Cost about £250, and it works great with my iMac

any canon gets my vote
epsons I hate with a passion excluding some of the nicer ones like the R800/1600/2400 and that of the proper photographic ilk. Epsons are just too greedy with ink and head cleaning, with dire internal print heads which clog up too much.
There are dedicated canon printers with 6-8 inks which I would go for but I've been out of the market for a while

Another vote for an Epson R800 here. I've always said there was no need for a printer at home but with the variable quality I've been getting from Photobox recently, I took the plunge. I've been blown away with the quality, it's superb.

Just got some semi-gloss paper to try in it so we'll see how that goes too. I really want a box of lustre but its only available in 250 sheet packs!

Where are you in Devon? If you're near Exeter, pop into the Devon Camera Cenre (Guildhall Shopping Centre, near the back entrance to M&S) and have a look at the prints from the range of Canon printers. Maybe even take in an image of your own and see if they'll print it for you.

I agree. I went into Devon Camera Centre the other day looking at tripods and they were very helpful. Worth a look I say:)
