I have an Epsom DX9400F printer. It is printing with lots of horizontal white lines whether B&W or colour. I have gone through the maintainance procedures several times but it still persists. I have recently started using cheaper inks could this be the cause of the problem.

If you get a problem suddenly you look to see if you've changed anything. In this case it's the inks. Now I'm not saying it is an ink problem. but did it occur just after the change. If so I'd revert to Epson branded inks and see if the problem disapears

Epsons are renowned for blocked nozzles, which seem to be the problem here.

You can buy a printhead cleaning kit, and have a go with that. (eg printhead hospital) It might work. Or replace the cartridges with Epson ones. Otherwise its buy a new printer, I'm afraid.

Inkjet printers are the pits.

Thanks for the responses, I have, however, replaced the ink cartridges with Epson this afternoon and the problem seems to have been resolved. First and last time with cheap ink.

Jerry, if inkjet printers are 'the pits' what do you suggest if I invest in a new unit for prints up to A4.

I've experienced it before and I've used a printer cleaning head kit and it works like a charm
