Printer, all-in-one or....well, what?

I'm on the lookout for a decent photo printer. I seem to be coming across lots of all-in-one models but few dedicated printers.....it must be said the choices here in Istanbul are few and far between. Am I going to get decent prints from an all-in-one....I've seen an HP with 9400 x 2400 DPI, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

For decent prints a dedicated photo printer would be best but it depends on what your definition of decent is and what you want the prints for. An all in one can give you prints that would pass inspection by most family members and Joe Bloggses.

I bought a "photo" printer that is an all in one, the prints I get from it are great and the quality is great, so great I installed a CISS into it.

alot of photo printers fall into the all in one category but are really good value for money IMHO

I wouldn't discount them from filling your needs (or paper) until you are happy you have made the right choice

I'd def recommend the Canon iP45/46/4700 range - very pleased with mine -> much better than the photo Epson printer I used to own

I used to own an Epson R220 photo printer but have recently swapped to a Canon MP540 all-in-one - just as good quality as the epson with the bonus of added functionality, the Canon range would be my recommendation

It looks like it'll be the Canon 4700, we don't get as much choice here in Turkey as elsewhere but this one is available and seems to be highly recommended, in its price range anyway. Ordering today. Thanks for the replies.
