Morning,

At reasonably short notice I've been asked to provide one of my prints, mounted, for a charity event this coming Friday. I've printed at 15x10 but for the life of me can't find a mount board that fits such a print. I've got a mount board (20x16) which has an internal spacing for a 15x11 print so I was thinking of removing 1" along the 15" side of my print making it a 14x10 print.

On the mount board then there would be a 1" spacer all the way around - is this acceptable? Do you think it would look okay?

Edit - by the way, this is the print in question.

Regards,

Nigel

No. A 14x10 print sitting in the middle of a 15x11 aperture will look like the bodge job that it is.

What's the problem? Friday is two days away. Plenty of time to cut a new mount, I'd have thought.

PS Beautiful image. Deserves to be mounted properly.

Thanks .... first time really venturing into mounting so I'm not sure how confident I am in making the mount myself .... and all the art shops in the area are quoting 10 days :(

Needs mounting properly, Nigel. Unfortunately you're not in my area or I would do it for you - maybe some other photographer from near you could do it for you, have a word maybe with someone from a camera club?

Just in case it helps for future reference

These guys frame in Cambs so likely would cut and sell just mount boards etc??? If not perhaps they could advise.

By the +1 re the image, it looks a cracker and the recipient I would hope would be chuffed to get it.

Maybe
