I have a self-hosted WordPress photo-blog, which occasionally produces requests for prints or digital files. In the past, I had a PhotoBox account, and I used to add links to the relevant blog pages for print orders, but I eventually decided that it wasn't worth the hassle, and the process was too scary/complicated for many people.

I went down the make-your-own prints route a few years ago, and decided that it was too expensive and time-consuming. I want to concentrate on making the photos, and leave the printing, ecommerce, packing and delivery to experts. It would also be cool if I could sell image download licences.

As my blog is based on WordPress, any plug-in solutions would be really useful, but I'm quite happy to add links/buttons to a separate website if necessary.

Now that enquiries are picking up again, I wondered if any experienced peeps at TP had any suggestions?

There's a few options available for selling downloads.

There's sell media, which is free but has a ton of paid addons:

Sell photos
https://wordpress.org/plugins/sell-photo/

There is also WooCommerce which lets you do digital downloads.

Personally, I would go with Woocommerce.

Thanks for the reply, Alison. I am after someone to do the print/despatch for me, rather than just an e-commerce add-on.

Previously, I had links to relevant PhotoBox print pages on each blog page, but I was concerned that it was all just too messy for the end user.

I was involved with testing Sell Media for a while, but I found the developers to be clueless about selling photos and consequently unresponsive to suggestions for getting the product to a workable state. I haven't looked at Sell Photos, but it did pop up in Google, so I will check that out. Woocommerce I have heard of (it's pretty popular in the WordPress world by all accounts), but I'm not sure it helps.

I was hoping to avoid a paid service, as I don't get that many requests.

I've signed up for Photo4me in the short term, as they have lots of options and came recommended via a friend. Not cheap though.
