Looking for a budget tripod and came across this on jessops site, im guessing it's just rebranded from another make and hoped someone may have some experience with it?

Seemed great for the price and the one leg detachs to use for a monopod which is something else I was looking to buy. Both would have little use week to week but their would be the occasional time theyd both be very handy so don't want to spend loads but also don't want to buy too cheap and regret it.

Looks similar to the Redsnapper one and also the one MPB photographic sell

Probably is the same tripod with a different sticker on, no doubt will do the job

They will almost certainly be made in the same Chinese factory.

Also tempted by this if the ex display giottos I have coming turns out to be no good. There are 3 good reviews on Amazon.com but that's all I can find anywhere so not much to go on. Currys seem to be selling these as well. What I have found out though is that the trademark is owned by the Vitec Group (owners of Manfrotto and Gitzo). That may not necessarily be a good thing as I have a National Geographic brand monopod manufactured by them somewhere (complete with manfrotto quick release plate) which is totally rubbish. Given the price point and weight rating though I'd expect they couldn't be too bad if from a credible group of companies. If I get the chance to have a look at one I'll post up of course. I imagine they are manufactured in China in any case rather than Italy. Perhaps the brand is Vitec groups answer to the likes of MeFoto? Or as has already been suggested a rebrand of the generic tripods going about already. Vitec certainly don't seem to be promoting the fact they own the brand as I couldn't find anything either on the group site or the PrimaPhoto Gear site :s.

I bought one in the end last weekend and safe to its absolutely solid for the money, holds a gripped d750 with a sigma 100-300 f4 completely still no movement at all so I'm happy.
Been meaning to update this thread with some pictures.

Currys have these slightly cheaper than Jessops at £79.99, but only in black http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/camera...aphoto-phtr001-tripod-black-10140428-pdt.html
(Jessops should do a price match). Park Cameras also have these in stock

Here is the link to the manufacturers site for reference (and better pictures): http://primaphotogear.com/product/travel-kit-big/

That's actually a slightly different model from currys. It's the jessops one in the manufactures link although even they seem to be getting confused as one of the pictures they use is of the same as the one from currys.

Glad you pointed that out! Tempted to take a punt on this as the giottos was the smaller 9225 rather than the 9255 advertised, as suspected. Is there much plastic on it at all - it's going to need to take some abuse of it comes to live with me ;). Also, is the case decent enough (not a biggie but good to know).

Studioworks - are you still happy with the decision? I'm looking into buying a decent travel tripod (AMAZED at the cost for most models) and this one fits my budget whilst ticking a lot of the criteria I'm looking for - only concern is the 140cms max height. Are you still finding it stable enough when it's extended to the max and in use with the camera?
