Hi folks,

Just wondered if anyone knew why there are such large price differences between panamoz and e-infinity?

Panamoz have the R6 body only for £1960 and e-infinity have it in at £1759.

I am not talking about the merits of buying from these places, just wondered why there were such large price differences between grey market providers?

Also, what does it mean when they have (PAL) in the title. I assume this is a region thing like the old PAL game consoles?

You could always ask Tina at Panamoz for a price match, they seem to be flexible if you ask.

Oh I'm just window shopping lol

I just wondered why there was such a difference given they are both grey market places.

I can see why people use them though as Wex want £2300 odd for a used one and have no new ones in stock.

Plus I haven't decided on Canon / Sony yet lol. I'm going to the photography show in Sept so will have a play around with different systems and chat to people and get some ideas.

If your camera wasn't intended for PAL area you could change it to that but it might remind you it was in *wrong* area setting every time it was turned on ... Well some Sonys do ...
The only real relevance is increased risk of flickering from mains powered lights if not in correct area settings as you won't be able to select all shutter speeds - some cameras anyway - without switching.
Having bought from both outlets they were both fine with no unexpected additional charges.
E-Infinity seem noticeably more relaxed about despatch times and tend to use cheaper couriers. Probably

So it's in relation to the region settings the camera is set up on?

I know back in the day of game consoles we would often play at various mates houses and they would have games from different regions that were not PAL and they had a converter shoved into their Nintendo / Sega.

Bought a Nikon camera from Panamoz, came with UK plug for charger, UK manual, and when switched on came up with English as the menu. These cameras are all from the same place just distributed differently.

Panamoz also offer local/uk repairs if needed, pretty sure with e-infinity you have to return item to China.

That is correct @ mike-6480 ...

The difference in price between E-infinity and Panamoz is reflected in the warranty

E-infinity might offer a camera ,lets say a Sony for £1,000 which comes with a 1 year warranty
Panamoz might offer the same Sony camera for £1,150 BUT the give 3 years warranty

I would say its a far better deal to have a 3 year warranty for a little extra money , Although I`ve never had the need to contact them with warranty related issues I do believe both E-infinity and Panamoz have excellent Customer Services ..
