Prices/what should i charge

I'm being asked by a few bands in my local area to do live and promotional photography for them.. So I was just wondering if you think I should charge, and if so, how much?

What should i charge.

I persuaded a local band to have me take some pics for their website.

They are just starting out and I have very little experience of photography of bands. Do I charge an hourly rate or per pic rate? What sort of charge?

Any thoughts

If you're starting out, cover your costs plus a percentage. Also make it part of the agreement that you retain copyright therefore can use them as part of your portfolio. That way people will be happier to pay more next time (assuming they're good. Which they will be, right?)

I was thinking of something like £20 for a CD of over 20 pics, web sized and dpi and I retain copyright. They get me in free to the gig and pay for a beer

am I cheap or just realistic?
