hi-ya all


does anyone know if jessops do any kind of price match, i would like to buy a canon 50mm f1/4 for my first quality lens, you can buy a new one from Kerso for as much as second hand ones on ebay , i was just wondering if they did any kind of price matching, would like to get the lens this weekend as i'm off to the classis car show on sunday and it would give me a chance to have a play



p.s , forgot to introduce my self , have been hanging around for a while now, have been keen on getting into photography for a while , bought myself a 350d earlier on in the year, and have decided that i'd like to take it a bit more seriously than point and click, so i'm sure i'll have lots of questions to ask you knowledgeable people

The best way to find out if they price match is to ask them. But they may only match with know online outlets such as warehouse express, digital depot etc.
 
I think their current price match is only against prices in the same issue of a magazine with a Jessops advert showing the price match promise. That is a waste of time because the prices are a good 6 weeks old so they never have to match the current price of an item.
 
good question.

I went into the jessops in the trafford center manchester and he said he would price match anything but officially its not on at the moment, but he would still do it.
 
The magazine way above is a good way, although the mags that dont have jessops ad normally have the cheaper prices!

Another way is to buy through their website, you can normally find voucher codes on the web that give you up to 20/30% off..

TBH, they are normally pretty good at price matching, you could find what you are looking for on the net, print out the page and take in store, 9/10 times they will be happy to match it..
 
Dixons will price match too - it's mail order only and sometimes they say they won't match a particular site but if you ring back and speak to someone else they'll say yes.

have just rang my local jessops and they will only price match local shops and magazine adverts, they still want £303 for a canon 50mm f 1.4 , kerso will do it for £185 + £10 p+p,
i'm led to believe kerso has a good reputation ??? is this correct

£303 is a bit out there. Kerso always gets the :thumbs:
 
Give Kerso a chance to give you a price away from Ebay, I did on the 1.4 and it was a worthwhile reduction on his already good ebay prices.

Give him time to reply as he could be on the far side of the world at the moment tucked up in bed. His goods are posted from Fife in Scotland. I combined a day trip there and collected another lens I bought off him saving the postage and taking in a beautiful part of Scotland at the same time.
