Yes
I've been tracking the price of the D7000 for several months. At one point, it reached £608 on Amazon and I was tempted to get it and since then gone up to currently around £630. With the cashback offer now on until May, I will definately get it.

What does everyone think about the price of the D7000, do people think it will drop now over the next few months that the D7100 is here or will it maintain it's price since there will be less available? Am I just being silly and should I just get it now?

Dont think they'll drop, they are priced well especially as the cashback is available.

I can't see there being much further significant movement either. Given how good the D7000 is it is extremely good value imo at the moment.

I've just bought one from Amazon, could of got it £17 cheaper else where but I am a Amazon fan of their customer support.
And the camera is superb.

Now to sort out my cash back...

Get it now if you want one. Its a great deal with the cashback from Nikon. I doubt it ll get any cheaper when the cashback deal is finished

The cash back runs till the middle of May so there's no rush

No doubt a lot will be placing orders now so the price is unlikely to come down and no doubt a lot will order towards the end of the promotion

I'm waiting till late April-Early May to see where they are at then

While you guys are waiting to see if you can shave the last pound or ten off the price you're missing out on a great photographic experience. I don't get it.

I personally doubt that you will be making a significant saving if you waited till April-early May. I see your point about not rushing to buy it now but I guess the risk would be that shops may run out of stock if there is a huge demand.

If you've got money to burn that's a good philosophy!

In my world I have to sell any purchases to er'indoors before I can buy any purchases!!

If there wasn't shed loads lying around and a new D7100 available they wouldn't be having a cash back promotion!!!

You only discount when you're not shifting the numbers you need to or when the model is being discontinued, as I haven't heard the latter is true I reckon it's the former!

Everyone has a price they are prepared/capable to pay and it ain't reached mine yet!

Stocks will start drying up when certain UK stores advertise it as discontinued, same thing happened with the D700, just keep an eye on sites like camerapricebuster for indicators.

It would appear most places are out of stock now:( have ordered one from Park Cameras and have just been informed it could take 2 weeks and still no guarantee then! Wish they would say they are out of stock before you commit to buy.

I have to agree - if you really want one of these superb cameras then I would suggest moving now because I suspect that retailers will creep the price up as stocks diminish (as has been noted on amazon) rather than bring them down. Or stocks may sell out altogether if the interest on this forum is anything to go by

I bought my D7000 a month ago for a little under £600 but over the past few weeks the prices have been creeping back up again.

I would suggest acting now and get one, even for £630 you won't be disappointed!

If you want a D7000 I would think now is the time to get one, if buying online rather than local shop, £642 at Amazon and then £100 cash back from Nikon.

Ordered it from Amazon first thing this morning:) Cancelled my original order with Park Cameras. Would have preferred to purchase from Parks as I like to support independent retailers, but they could not guarantee when they could get one.

It should be with me tomorrow:) think I will now sell my D80, as I think a D7000 and D200 should suit me fine.

I got mine yesterday from my local trader, I had the last kit box, he doesn't know when he will be getting more in.
