Price Increases

Just got an email from Grays of Westminster saying that due to the weakness of the pound against the yen, from 1st August, Nikons' prices will be going up across the board so if you're thinking of buying something, maybe sooner is better than later. (sorry if this thread already exists, tried to find something but couldn't).

No surprises there Chris, 'grey' prices have already been rising ... £100+ on a D500 in most places and £200+ on a D810

Same as gramps Sony grey A7r2 has gone up over 10% already with sterling set for increases soon so agree with Chris get your gear soon if you can

Ha ha. Just like Norway and Switzerland. Then again, in order to be part of free trade zone and free movement of their citizens into and around Europe, they have to accept every EU directive without ever being able to vote on it.

Most Grey importers put prices up soon after the brexit vote and now it would be cheaper to buy in the UK than many of the Chinese sites.

Just another excuse to put up prices to us brits, like why havnt petrol prices come down when oil prices have.

Most of the rumoured price hikes are to be Europe wide, not just UK so it's not just about punishing Brits.
Sony supposedly are putting 15-20% on evdrything across Europe.

I suspect its because the d5 for example is say E6000 which used to be £5000 but now £5000 is only worth E5500 so the uk has to increase price to £5450 for it to be E600 again
