evening all,

I've been offered a polaroid 550 holder for £120. My heart is saying buy it as they are like hens teeth, but does that sound like a reasonable price?

Also can anyone confirm if it will fit my Deardorff? I want it to but I've scoured the interweb with no firm conclusion to be found. I coud still use it on my MPP if not but I really want to be able to use it on the 'dorff

ta,

Chris

It's designed for the graflok or international back Chris. I.e. like the one on my Wista 45 DXIII. Apparently it will work just as a normal duckslide too though, although I wouldnt want to guarantee it!

Thats my problem, there are people saying it might, people saying it won't and a couple saying it will, but no-one with pictures of it fitting, or pictures made with it.

I might buy it anyway and if it doesn't fit just do some 5x4 polaroid (well Fuji really) portraits with the MPP

It would be lovely to be able to check exposure on critical shots, I completely fubar'd the Quirang shot, set the wrong aperture I think and didn't notice, at least 2 stops under exposed, a lovely sky but nothing usable in the foreground :bang:  :bang:

hmmm, I massively underexposed my first Quirang shot on velvia too. I put it down to having the grad too far down the frame on mine. I was metering off the ground and compensating with grads as I didnt have a spot meter at the time. So in theory, the foreground should have been exposed correctly and the sky blown if anything. But no, all I got was blocked up shadows. Hrumph.

I need a drum scanner too I've decided. Slides are just too dense by far to get good results out of a flatty.

eh there's one on ebay at the moment BIN at £113 ish plus £5 or so postage, i've been keeping an eye on it and thinking long and hard about it as ones at auction were going for £90-£95

Where's that?! The only BIN I can see for a 550 holder is £150

This is the other one I'm looking at, not bothered about all the old packs as probably fairly crusty by now but its in the UK

sometimes you need to search for other terms - here

looks a little tattie but hey :)

It's beyond my budget at the moment untilmid sept when i'll be looking for one :)

Can you find me some 5x7 film holders at under £50 as well ;)

I don't know about that holder, it does look a bit tatty and I would only save £7 over the other one, which is basically as new so better for resale if it doesn't fit

lol i'll see what i can do ;) lol

i have a pack of the FP100c45 in the fridge that i got aspart of a big batch of film i bought on ebay, just need a holder to play with it in lol just being a poor student for the summer isn't good

ooh, you definitely win for that one. cheapest I found was £45 each + VAT, ok they were new but that comes out at over £100 for 2

I shall be calling in the morning

Have a

I meant to post on this earlier, damn!

They have sneakily called them 5x7 when they are the metric equivalents. Not a big hassle but it means i have to buy wierd film so i think i'll try and hold out
