Pretentious food and drink

No photo but what is it with serving food on a narrow plank!
I refuse to eat in these type of places, PPs the lot of em! My wife and daughter go to them . They went to a show at the Palace Theater in Manchester last night and paid £17.40 for two glasses of wine, more money than sense, the pair of em!

I love posh nosh, yesterday I had ox heart and crispy collagen with sorbet followed by black Bream with thyroid glands. Bloody lovely.

Bloody Janners!!! The only place to eat in Plymouth is Cap'n Jaspers on the Barbican. Not so good if it's persisting down but the food's delicious with (un)healthy sized portions.

TBH I don't mind pretentious serving dishes/glasses as long as the food's good and not overpriced for what it is. Hell, I can remember sleevers being fer poofs!

Be serving jellied eels pieces ìndividually soon in an egg cup

technically #2 isn't really pretentious, it's just limited edition designer glassware.

#1 coffee in a beaker has become a little hipster, but the container with measurements does help in some situations with getting the brew right. like so - http://www.brian-coffee-spot.com/wp...humbnail-Foundry-Coffee-Roasters-DSC_8319.jpg
A sugar thermometer helps when making a perfect Italian meringue, but I don't expect it to be still stuck in my lemon meringue pie when they serve it :p

Transferring the coffee between cups is only going to sap heat. Technically you should warm your cup before making coffee as the cold ceramic absorbs the heat, cooling the coffee too quickly.

Even s***ty pub chains are at it now. I had a burger in the local hungry horse on Friday and the chips came in a little metal bucket plant pot type of thing.

Since being served chips in a similar fashion, I now request that my food is served on a plate when I order.
Not a bucket, or a slate, or a plank....etc. :-)

I did quite like it though. They were skinny fries so it kept them hot. :)
