I have a number of images I want to crop to letter box shape, slightly smaller than A4, can I preset the size of the crop box???

Thanks

Sam

Not sure about Elements but in PS if you want a specific size in pixels you can set the size of the marquee tool. After making a selection you can then just go to edit/crop image.

With the crop tool you just enter the ratio of height/width in the two boxes provided. The crop tool will maintain the aspect of height/width as you drag it out, but I don't think that's what you were asking for.

no its not, but thanks for trying, I know what I mean, just poor at explaining.

If you want to crop a lot of images to exactly the same size AND position, in other words if you want to crop off say, 10% top, 15% bottom from every photo, then View NX2 will do it for you.

It is a free download from Nikon which also allows you to edit your raw files as well as JPEGS.

All you do is select all the pictures you want to crop in the Browser window, click on the Edit button, select Free Crop from the RH Crop menu, click and drag to get the crop you want on the single photo showing and that crop will also be applied to all the other photos you have selected.

That's exactly what I want - to take the top and bottom from a number of photos - excellent thanks
