Hi all, well I went on holidays to Austria last winter and and have finally got around to doing a slideshow. Had some stunning pics. I used Nero Platinum to make a blueray disc. Fantastic clarity (using a Nikon D7100). Unfortunately all the photos have been stretched sideways. I can select a different display mode for the photos (4:3) but then it drops resolution compared to using the HD (16:9) for Blueray. How do other people overcome this problem and what do others use for making slideshows. I want to make a slideshow to post to family back in Oz .. any hints welcome

I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD, but if you’re on windows try moviemaker it’s already installed and ready to go.

I tried windows movie maker as well and the option is exactly the same as Nero. It will give you the old 4:3 (poorer quality) or HD 16:9 that stretches the picture sideways. I must be doing something wrong somewhere. Surely there is a way to take a standard Nikon photo and display it as it should be ???

I think there is an option under “save movie”, “custom settings” to alter the - height/width - bit rate - frame rate and audio format.
Is that the answer?

Been quite a while playing around with different settings to try and get a good slideshow. Still not having success. I've tried altering the scale settings within Nero but the results all seem pretty much the same. A stretched (sideways) look. I've even tried scaling using the tv's control but the images look rubbish. I'm interested in what other people are using to get good results on a 6000x4000 image onto a DVD disc.
