What present did you get for your wife on the day?

I am not sure what to get her but I want something that will last.

She is a bit of a tomboy so not really into jewellery.

Thanks

She got me! What else could she want?

You don't buy the presents, everyone else does, that's the point! ;);)

Unfortunately I can't buy Michael Bublé.
She has got some tickets at Christmas for next month

Such a modern thing. I got married in (19)78 no such thing as present for bride, best man or anyone, such a simple time. Married 36 years this year, think I married the right girl.☺I still adore her and I think she quite likes me. I certainly got the better deal. Tell her you adore her and will cherish her, keep to that and it will be the best present she will ever get. Best wishes for your future.

Buy her a 5D3 or a 1DX... Not into photography? Darn, you'll just have to make use of it yourself.. :)

On a more serious note, I'd suggest something small but special that will become a keepsake and reminder of the day. She may not be into jewellery, but might appreciate a neck chain or maybe a nice watch. That you make the effort to make her day extra special will be enough.

cause some of us know that buying our wives presents occasionally goes a long way to making our lives much easier
Once she is your wife yes, but when all parties involved have spent, what is it, £10,000 these days to get hitched, why add yet another expense into it all?

and the rest...something small works well, but I know its a matter of opinion

I don't think we exchanged gifts other than rings. We had been a couple for well over 20 years before we tied the knot though!

Ive been asking this question myself recently, as I am getting married in April. To be honest, I thought it was a traditional thing to get the Bride a gift

Ive decided on a nice little bracelet :angelic:

As long as it matches her leg irons you're good.. :)

Been married 35 yrs this April, to the same person too.

Set of golf clubs, she can put them away for 30yrs until she needs them :D

I dunno, why not do something like getting a tree planted to remember your day in one of the woodland areas [woodland trust is your place to get more info on one near you] - they tend to last a few years

Seriously though, what does she doing, hobbies, etc? Is it worth looking at more ethnic or 'natural' jewellery if she is a bit of a tomboy rather than the tradition gold/silver/gems?

I have just been discussing this over the weekend with a friend. He settled on a nice watch which was a women's Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Automatic that we ordered over the weekend . It's a classy classic watch. It will last a lifetime and be a something that she can hand down. Lot of money for a watch but it is (hopefully) a one off present.

Mum got Dad a watch as a wedding gift. I am now its custodian and enjoy wearing it. IIRC, he bought Mum a sewing machine. AFAIK, that still works perfectly too (and is probably a whole lot cheaper to service!)
