Preparing to reformat C:/drive

Am in the middle of copying files to my external drive just as I am about to do a major spring clean of the computer by reformatting. Just wondering how many of you are using Windows live mail instead of some other third party email program. Since I use Win 7 my email program is Thunderbird.

Any disadvantages using windows live mail against my current choice of thunderbird?
Also can I use my Sky email address in live mail.

I've used it, does what it says on the tin really but that's about it. Had no bother with it.

Thunderbird is miles ahead of Windows Live mail.
I use outlook myself ( free copy with an old SPV phone) btw, I have a spare licence if you want to give it a go.

The standard mail application in Windows 8 should be much better.
