Premiership referees

Sitting here watching the chelsea Sunderland game and the CHelsea side is full of players alledgedly on £100,000+ a week etc........ you know the headlines that are often in the redtops..........

And I got thinking...

How much does a Premiership ref get paid?

Anyone got any idea?

Pure guess, but I have the figure of around £1k per game in my head.

Premier League referees earn approximately £70,000 per annum.

Assistants are paid per match, I believe, £375.

They get a retainer, plus expenses and a match fee.

Think the assistants get around £500.

In scotland it's much worse, SPL ref will get £800 a game(this included old firm games!), assistants are circa £500 i think,

I thought it had went up from 70k but could be wrong

blinding bit of business to IMO being a Newcastle supporter if the 250k for Hughton thing is true, he deserves as much as the top managers IMHO

Ian Dowie as assistant manager gets paid more than Hughton, the manager? Bet hughton is on some stonking win bonuses etc if that is his basic.

Dowie hasn't been at Newcastle since we went down, some info on there will be out dated

I believe Alan Shearer was on £1 million a game from what was said up here to "save" us in our relegation season
